Talked to SRT rep this morning and he said rumors are "probably" true that the black hoods will delay having our HC built. Said to call dealer if we want to change. I called my dealer and he had to call his rep and it is now changed to Sublime only no black hood. This is not really a big deal since I can have it painted local or even wrapped.

Vinyl wrapping may not be a bad idea. This is what the ordering web site says:

Satin paint is a unique exterior treatment that gives your Challenger SRT Hellcat a distinctive appearance. Satin finishes are different from other automotive paints and need special care to maintain their appearance. Unlike a typical high gloss clear-coat, damage to the Satin coating (such as scratches or wear from aggressive cleaning) cannot be polished or buffed out. Once an area is damaged or becomes shiny, the "flat" appearance cannot be restored. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's recommendations conveniently located on a customer Tips card located with your User Guide Kit in your glove box

I say for the masses the vinyl wrapping will be just fine....matte paint is a different animal and is different to care for

Nope. Holding for the OEM application. It will pay dividends.

As all in this process have learned, getting accurate and current information out of Dodge is difficult. What I found out today is this; there are a number of cars that have been completed with the Satin Hood, mine included. The issue is that they require special approval to ship them, which has not been signed off on. Just ship the damn car!

I really like the satin hood but I take my car through the car wash. From research that doesn't work for a wrap correct?
