Where is everyone having weight installed on their 18x5 front runners for balancing? Tire place is saying they can't balance them without the weights hitting the caliper?

Hammer on or you can always try the balancing beads.

Don't do hammer on weights, you have space right behind the spokes to use stick on weights & it will clear the caliper.
When you mount them back on the car give them a spin to make sure they don't hit.

I use Counteract balancing beads in the rear tires because the tire moves on the wheel when racing, works well for that.
