This is terrible news!

I hope @maculberson you will have your Hellcat returned safe and sound.

Was it towed?
Air Tag or Galaxy Smart Tag? Details like at a motel, the generic parking, etc?
I have a friend attending the Power Tour and he said

"Rumor has it that 4-5 Hellcats stolen last night out of hotel parking lots.
Supposedly they're using a vin to key decoder. In and out in 30 seconds. "

Fuel pump relay?

It's in the rear fuse box and should be marked.

Without it, no way they can get the engine started.

No shit! One of my buddies is down there for the tour… he has (had) a 2016 Challenger Hellcat with those rims. 6 speed, Torred. It was stolen from their hotel parking lot last night in Memphis!!

I feel sick for him (and the rest of you guys).

nope. They somehow made a key. I don’t understand how that works.

I had my own AirTag in it. They found it and tossed it.

Hilton Garden Inn across the street from IKEA.

Two other Challengers stolen from a nearby hotel.

I never realized Memphis was popular for chop shops etc., until I started looking into it today.
I would be shocked if most are ever seen again, especially in one piece.

That sucks!

Surprising the thieves want to mess with some good ole boys in TN!
Would have been a much happier ending if car thieves got some holes shot in 'em!

Was just thinking I need to cover up my VIN but then remembered the previous
knucklehead owner had the VIN etched on all the windows. lol

Kill switches and wheel boots would have likely saved some of them.
Either that or don't park the Hellcats in hotel parking lots.

I wonder what it would cost to have an armed guard watch your car for a night? lol

Aside from Graceland the whole city of Memphis is a $hithole and has been for decades.

Huh, really. I guess I didn’t know that. I’ve always loved TN (was just in Nashville again a few weeks back). Memphis has been on my list to visit, but it seems like I’m not missing much.

Would covering the vin prevent this or does the key decoder use a wifi to get the vin?

I’ve been to both. Nashville is great, Memphis is a sheet hole. I’ll never go back to Memphis.
