Has anyone had experience with a Borla ATAK on a Base Hellcat and a Redeye?

I loved my Borla ATAK on my Hellcat, but when I swapped it over to the Redeye the exhaust is noticeably quieter then it was when it was on the regular Hellcat. It was not what I expected. Especially since I got the 3.09 gears and have an extra 500RPM that I can lay on with the Redeye engine. I was just curious if anyone with experience in both cars has also experienced this!

Yes, I noticed the exact same thing. How many miles have you put on yours? I'm asking because I've noticed lately it's finally gotten louder, especially at WOT.

It's specifically tuned for the normal Hellcat. Makes sense. I didn't think it would be different though. That's interesting.

You should start noticing it getting a little louder. I have 1400 on mine and the other day when I started it up I was like oh, that sounds the way I remember. Sounds weird I know, but I swear it's true.

I have only a lowly HC, non RE. I have the Borla ATAK on it.
I really don't understand why it would be quieter on a RE. The RE has a little more cam and of course more boost. Everything else (as far as engine dynamics) are the same.
Just seems weird to me. Same part # from Borla.
Just does not make sense. Really would like to know why this is.

The Borla is a cat back exhaust so no replacing the cats. Maby the cats are the difference.
BTW other than cam and boost difference, the same motors. The difference in internal strength would not change sound.
They are not "totally different engines".

It hasn't gotten much louder, and I just crested 2K miles. I was definitely happier with my Borla ATAK on the regular Hellcat. Even though the engine is quieter at lower RPM's I have noticed that the Redeye has a lot more burbles and pops while coasting and downshifting, and that is a bonus. Part of me wonders if I should pony up for the valve simulators and see if I like that better. I wish I knew someone who could show the system to me in-person so I didn't have to waste like $1200.

Are any of you guys in this thread with the Borla ATAK running the 140648 part # that has the valve simulator and if yes have you had any CELs after some miles. I read through the huge Bolra ATAK thread that started in mid 2016 and it seems they have been through a few iterations with early first year system having plenty of reported issues with customer getting CELs. I've been unable to find any threads with people buying one in the 2019-2021 timeframe and reporting their results, again specifically with part#140648 that has the simulators. Appreciate any feedback....mine is shipping today so fingers crossed

I have it and no issues. 2020 REWB also had it on my 17..
Did you do the install yourself, and if yes, any tips for getting the mounting of the factory actuator aligned properly...or is it exactly as they stated in the manual...which says don't fully tighten, start the car and let them fall in place then fully torque. Just trying to avoid any issues if possible. Thanks for the quick reply

Straight forward install with no issues. Just make sure the actuators fully seat of they'll pop a code. If you get the code for actuators just uninstall and reinstall and they should be good to go.

You don't need valve simulators if your car is 2019+
