Are any of you installing the brake cooling deflectors that come in the trunk? They are exclusive to the red eye and some dealers install them and some don't. Mine are still in the box. If I get time I'll install them first oil change.
I bought my NBRE new last fall 2021 and my defectors were in the glove box after driving home from dealer I called them and they said what's a deflector, anyway, they are still in the glove boxAre any of you installing the brake cooling deflectors that come in the trunk? Did he stand on the brakes at the end? Or pulse them a little to give them a chance to cool some as he slowed?Another guy on this forum did 203 in the 1.5mi in a lightly modded Charger last year on a 2.5mi track. He said he smelled something on the return road and pulled over, he said his rotors were blue. I plan to put mine on before I try the 1.5mi. Other than that, I see no need for my driving. I'm too old and slow.![]()
Don't know, but at that speed the weeds at the end of the runway come up pretty quick.Did he stand on the brakes at the end? Or pulse them a little to give them a chance to cool some as he slowed?
They're really unnecessary in my opinion unless you're going to race.I bought my NBRE new last fall 2021 and my defectors were in the glove box after driving home from dealer I called them and they said what's a deflector, anyway, they are still in the glove box
1.5 and 2.5 miles to get to 200+ mph? Does it really take that long in the hellcats? My S2000 is built for the 1/2 mile events and although it hasn't run an event yet, it will most likely get to 200+ in 1/2 mile. Kind of figured the hellcats should be able to achieve 200 within a mile.Forgive me for my laziness but does anyone happen to have a Mopar part number handy. I'm building mine to be a 200 mile an hour terror in the 2 and a 1/2 mile.
Several Redeyes and modified Hellcats ran 195-200mph at the Texas Mile a couple of weeks ago.1.5 and 2.5 miles to get to 200+ mph? Does it really take that long in the hellcats? Good to know, thanks.Several Redeyes and modified Hellcats ran 195-200mph at the Texas Mile a couple of weeks ago.
Stock Hellcats between 168-174mph in the mile. Low end was into an 11-13mph headwind while the high end was into a 4-5mph headwind. 1/2mi was 150mph. DA ~2000ft.
Stock Hellcat in the 1/2mi was 148mph at 9,000ft DA years back with a tailwind.
