Are any of you installing the brake cooling deflectors that come in the trunk? They are exclusive to the red eye and some dealers install them and some don't. Mine are still in the box. If I get time I'll install them first oil change.
Another guy on this forum did 203 in the 1.5mi in a lightly modded Charger last year on a 2.5mi track. He said he smelled something on the return road and pulled over, he said his rotors were blue. I plan to put mine on before I try the 1.5mi. Other than that, I see no need for my driving. I'm too old and slow.
I bought my NBRE new last fall 2021 and my defectors were in the glove box after driving home from dealer I called them and they said what's a deflector, anyway, they are still in the glove box
Forgive me for my laziness but does anyone happen to have a Mopar part number handy. I'm building mine to be a 200 mile an hour terror in the 2 and a 1/2 mile.
1.5 and 2.5 miles to get to 200+ mph? Does it really take that long in the hellcats? My S2000 is built for the 1/2 mile events and although it hasn't run an event yet, it will most likely get to 200+ in 1/2 mile. Kind of figured the hellcats should be able to achieve 200 within a mile.
I would do the same thing but I dont want to loose the trap door I’ve got beneath my oil cooler which enables me to drain it without removing that entire pita pan.
They were in my trunk, my seller didn't install them and my local dealer did not want to install without charging a fee.
So one Saturday morning I took the wheels off for a deep clean and installed in under 15 mins each.
Remember at an ave speed of 180 that 1/2mi goes by in 10 sec!
Never forget that Kinetic Energy is a function of Velocity squared. Stopping from 200 is twice as hard as stopping from 141. 50% more energy to dissipate than from 163.
According to Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze, the two had permission to use the runway and were likely to have been traveling over 100 mph at the time of the crash.
