Okay guys so have a question dealer says I need new front brakes and rotors... Just hit 30000 miles I find it hard to believe the rotors need replaced but the brakes I can see.. They quoted me 3000 just to do the front. Which is outrageous. I was thinking of doing my self and going with powerstop z23 warriors. Any experience with those? Also the sales representative told me that kit only lasts about 6-8 months which I find crazy as well???.. I'm going to get a second opinion or look myself to see where it stands if I even need them. So any information on the kit I'm looking into or any suggestions on different brands would be appreciated.
I have a 2016 dodge challenger srt hellcat.

I have a 2016 dodge challenger srt hellcat.
We need pictures of your front rotors.

If the steering wheel does not shimmy or the brake pedal does not pulsate during braking, the rotors are not warped. If you can still see the slots on both front and back, the rotors are thick enough.

Make sure you torque all lugs nuts with a proper torque wrench to 111 or 115 Ft Lbs so the rotors do not warp after brake service; no impact wrench.

Which pads were you told only last 6-8 months??

Go with the Z26s on all four corners. The 26s have clip on noise shims where the 23s have adhesive shims. See my other posts on removing the paint on the sides of all friction pucks and where to lubricate the new pads.

Don't know how they would determine that you need new rotors unless they measured them. Even so, you can get really nice, new rotors for less than $100 a piece. A set of front and rear high-performance pads for $500 total. You could replace the brake fluid too while the wheels are off with a higher temp fluid for less than $50. So, for less than $1000, you could do the whole thing yourself. And that $1000 was a high estimate. Pep Boys used to sell rotors for $25 a piece.

Rotors don't usually "warp" nowadays, they have uneven pad wear. Just put on pads yourself, and you'll be way ahead. From what I could find, Z23 and Z26 are the same ceramic pads, except for the backing material; rubber v steel. What pads have you used since the beginning? Semi-metallic may wear the rotors though.

With the two piece rotors, you don’t have to replace the whole thing. Replacing just the rings is an easy and cost effective way to go. Couple of after market suppliers out there. I went with new DBA rings and they work great. I also tried the Z25 pads and not thrilled with them (less stopping power). Went with Stoptech “street” pads and super happy. All the OE Brembo pad bite with less dust.

Where did you find them that cheap..?

I've had brembos the stock ones... They seem to make alot of dust

This is what I was going with but the representative said they only last 6-8 months and I think that's insane

No shimmy that I can notice but I want good brakes thatll last too

Yeah not liking the brembos to much dust for me hard to keep clean

There's a bit of lip on the outer edge, but the rotors are very smooth which is what you want. Plenty of thickness since you can still see the slots. You mentioned there's no pulsation or shimmy, so you should be good to go. Leave the shiny surface on the rotors; smooth/shiny is best.

Go with the Z26s on all four corners. The 26s have clip on noise shims where the 23s have adhesive shims. Lubricate the new pads with high-temp silicone brake lube.

Torque the lug nuts per above...
