Yes I know its pretty common knowledge at this point, but man this is hard to hear. What I dont understand is when I do chat with Dodge, they keep telling me all the parts for my 21 Charger HC WB have been received and the build is going to be scheduled. If that was true, then why idle? Im sure there are other cars that have all the parts ready to be assembled. I know there is a much bigger picture here, but its just tough to finally get some movement on my order from 8/2, just to have the plant idle again right before its scheduled to be built. It also has a ship date of 9/15 but I bet thats going to get pushed. Misery loves company, lets hear where your build is at and are you going to be effected by this current idle.

My Durango Hellcat has been in parts received ready to build stage for over a month. Dealer said I’d be lucky to see it around Thanksgiving. So I’m expecting to be one of the last off the assembly line.

Ugh. Sorry man. I have ZERO patience for this type of stuff. I have bought several new cars over the last 15 years and never had the patience to ever wait for one ordered. But then there has never been a shortage of new cars to purchase either...

Yeah, these are surely unique times. I think it gets worse again when tax time rolls around next year. You’ll see major shortages of new cars and used car values skyrocketing again to what they were in spring of this year. Manufacturers just can’t build them fast enough.

The tag line "all parts received and ready to build" is bs, they don't receive any parts until your car is ready to get on the line and start the actual build. That's the whole point of the "just in time" method of assembly that all factories use these days, can you imagine all the parts for all these cars sitting around the assembly plant somewhere? No, doesn't happen, it doesn't work that way any more.

So anyway, stop dealing with Chat, who all they do is feed you this line. Get the updated POC from your dealer and it will have the actual status code on it from FCA / Stellantis and any possible build or ship date so you'll know exactly where you stand.

I ordered on 5/31, Hellcat Redeye Widebody Challenger, chassis 618371, the delivery date has slowly pushed further and further out. I'm assuming at this point it will be late October to early November before I get it.

Who told you that the Brampton plant was going to be shutting down for a bit? I called SRT to check on the status of our cars and they said they haven't heard anything about the plant shutting down . But on a side note they told me that our Hellcat is done and just waiting a shipping date and the SS is being built with a possible ship date of 9-27

You saw the third post right?

But aside from that it turns out someone else posted that they decided to keep the Brampton plant open. But it was scheduled to be idled this week. Looks like us waiting for builds maybe got lucky.

Thanks for the info. The chat reps have told me on numerous occasions that Dodge has tossed out the scheduling status codes. So, you’re saying they actually still use them?

Chat will not talk in code, they will give 100 words when a simple D or D1 would do.

But on your POC from your dealer, it will have your actual status code.

This is such a fluid situation, all manufacturers are having supplier issues. Chips, covid, etc. The Toyota plant here in Ky. Is shutting down one full line for about 6 weeks, diverting all parts to its second line. It's gonna be rough all around at least until next year, there's just too many unknown variables on EVERYTHING right now.

Yeah, this is reminiscent of when I bought mine in March of 2020 but didn't see it delivered until August. In my case, the plant was closed due to covid. I had the opposite issue. I saved a ton of money because Dodge had materials stacked up and overflowing and no cars to build as sales were extremely slow. Rolling shut-downs due to Covid slowed production and shortened shifts at the upfitter left it sitting there for almost 2 months. Then, supply chain logistics delays caused by reduced availability of shipping options just made the process painfully slow.
