Do you know any body shops that have the digital paint reader thing (not sure what they call it). Body shop I use has one and it's darn accurate. They put it up against the finish and it generates the formula for the paint. Gets things close or dead nuts without a lot of back and forth... Might be a good solution for wheels to get a color match.Anthricite is a dark gray to black like color. You cannot judge any color my the internet charts, you have to see them in person and also determine how they are applied for the correct finish.
I'm having a 2nd set of rims powdered coated as close to hyper black as possible...it's taken 12 samples to get the look, reflection, etc. of the finish. Brass monkey is a really dull brass/gold color. Best way to match it is order the center cap and have your local painter or coater work with it.
It would be great if Dodge released the paint codes and markers, but they just don't. There are many matching services out there that have catalog a lot of OEM paint schemes, just not the brass monkey or hyper black yet.
The color is really not the problem, it's the reflective properties and gloss that make the end result. Imagine putting gold in the paint reader and seeing what paint formula comes out..Do you know any body shops that have the digital paint reader thing (not sure what they call it). Did you pick up the B5 Charger at Fred Beans in Doylestown? Just curious as I was going to take a look at it this weekend, but my guy said it "sold" last night. Either way, congrats and hope you enjoy. I'll continue my hunt for the elusive B5 Challenger I want! I'm really hoping that they just carry over the color to next year due to the "Cluster Fxxx" that's going on. If not, Blue Streak Pearl would be my next choice for FY16. Congrats again.Taking delivery tomorrow of B5 Blue Charger HC with brass monkeys (dealer order). Wife and I aren't a big fan. Will be looking to trade for the black OEMs. A couple of the wheels came with chips on them so they will first be replaced via warranty. Just a heads up. You'll need to be near me, no shipping. Also, if tire swaps involved, I only ask you pay for that, after all, I am paying for the optional wheels![]()
