I will be picking up my Sinamon Stick 2022 challenger Hellcat on Friday(8/26). I will also be taking a road trip over the weekend. I will be traveling about 3 hours away by mostly highway. How strict has everyone been following their break in period? Should I be concerned with the steady speed from the 3 hour drive on the highway? Whats the recommended "safe" break in top speed for the first several hundred miles? Etc... Should I take the hellcat on the highway or dont risk it and just take my truck??

Picked up my Redeye in Virginia and got home in Georgia the same day with the bad boy all broken in. Plenty of bumper to bumper traffic leaving the DC area and then no highways allowed 100 plus speeds. 🙄. I think if you use a little common sense you’ll be all set. Just enjoy the new ride 👍

Your engine is broken in at the factory. Break-in is mostly for drive train. Just try to not cruise at the same rpm or same gear for extended periods. Vary it as much as you can. Also try not to hammer down, basically avoid shocking the drive train. You’ll be fine. I’ve road tripped two of these home from my dealer like this with zero issues.

So far I have been in all types of traffic, city stop and go and highway cruising. Couple throttle bursts but nothing outrageous but enough for the DRs to squeak (giggles like school girl) and no WOT bursts. I'm at 350 miles in a little less than two weeks but I bought it from my usual dealer in my fairly small town.

Rear diff can get hot initially so keep the speed down and make a few stops to let it cool. This possibly could help with the diff whine that some cars get.

Everything in the manual is what SRT said years ago for the then top dog 392 which was not run in at the engine plant so Hellcat is totally different in that respect.

Basically use common sense.

Plan a route home. Take backroads for the first 100-150, stop and go, 50mph, stop again. Plan a route that meets the manual. Simple, You will not find it boring!
