What the hell! 5 years with power stop never a squeak or re grease, I go back to brembros and get non stop squeaking! Tried 3 types of grease, bead brakes still squeak!! Iam at the point of throwing them out and going back to power stop! What a waste, any ideas before I toss them? Oh I I did remove one back plate to grease, probably not a good idea i can never get it that tight.

When do you hear the squeak?

Remove the black paint from the sides of all the disc pad friction pucks & lightly skin the pad surface to clean it & reinstall with silicone brake lube.

I've posted on this issue before. Do a Search on my name with keyword "brake".

I've had 5 cars with performance Brembos... 3 of which were 6-piston designs. Two of my cars developed squealing I couldn't get rid of. I took them apart, ground off the paint, reseated the pads, lubed them, bedded them, used CRC brake cleaner + de-squeak. Both cars would be absolutely fine for a week before the squeal came back. It would always start at partial brake force, right when the pad touched the rotor. It would make some noise and quit if you hammered onto the brake. Wait another week and it would start sounding like a set of Shimano bicycle brakes.

One car, my 2018 T/A never did get fixed. I disassembled the front brakes twice myself and cleaned/lubed/rebedded them. Took them to a local mechanic and had him do pretty much the same thing. No luck. Took to the dealer under warranty, no luck. I ended up trading it in for my Hellcat. The other car, my 2015 Mustang GT, it went through the same process as outlined above, but the dealer finally did locate the problem and claimed the driver's side caliper had somehow or other warped the rotor. They replaced both front calipers and both front rotors under warranty and it didn't squeak again for 20k miles until I sold it.

Thank for the replies! I can’t tell for sure if it’s coming from the fronts or rear. The latest grease I used with the black CRC with the brush. My front rotors are warped, when I brake at times I get shimmy. My rear rotors are original 7 years old, want to change those but having trouble with those 18mm bolts!

my fronts are my second pair, just changed outer piece, guess I should of purchased drilled rotors? Maybe too much heat warped? Iam in a ton of stop and go traffic in nyc streets.

So sand down the black paint on the edges and use CRC disc quiet spray?

"My front rotors are warped", per a dial indicator? PLEASE research this you'll find the rotor is probably fine. I'd say go back to Powerstops, OR next month, you'll be complaining about the front brake dust......... 😁

Any of the spray on quiet stuff is a waste of money. I have never used that stuff and never will.

You do need to remove the paint from the sides of all friction pucks. This paint causes most if not all low-speed brake noise. Clean out the pad channels in the caliper housing. Lubricate all disc pad contact points with a high-temp silicone brake lube, including on the backs of the pads or shims if installed. If the pads are used, make sure you skin the pad surface remove any paint and foreign materials from the pad surface.

Torque all lug nuts... not doing so can warp rotors.

Brembos will make plenty of dust, changed mine to Powerstops Z23's and don't have the dust issue, brakes are a little spongy compared to Brembos and will have a 'slip' when applying pressure, don't know how else to describe it.
Yes they do I know what you mean! I feel that at times with power stop especially in the rain

I don’t need to sand at the contact points correct? Just the pad edge

Well over12 Brembo brake jobs for myself, and my friends since 2013. 2013Durango Brembo Swap, 2015 Jeep SRT, 2016 Jeep SRT, 2017 Jeep SRT, 2015 HC Challenger, 2021 Durango Tow & Go, 2019 HC Charger:

Used the CRC Brake Quiet each time. 4 coat over the course of 48 hours prior to install.

NEVER took off the paint and none of them every squealed.

Just my personal experience .

Thanks, is 48 hrs a dry time? Did you spray down the whole back up plate and sides?
