Be careful with the heat gun too, or you will likely end up with darker/shiny spots.

I used to freak over that kind of stuff, too. Especially if it's a newer car. But as time rolls along I realized it's not new anymore and those things just happen when you drive this car. Wish they didn't. But if you replace or repair it then wait like you said he should wait till he sells it and then replace it $200 because it will surely happen again.

The first rock chip is always the worst. Gets a bit easier as time goes on, as you say. 😁
