Guys,
As a buyer do not have trust buying from anyone, even if they are a high post member that you have had conversation with.

Use paypal for protection and pay the fees.

I recently bought a set of sublime calipers from a member. I did not use paypal. Made a $100 deposit and waited weeks for their new brake setup to arrive. We had mutual conversation and finally they were ready. Sent the money via paypal, paid for shipping, and paid for $1,000 of insurance. The seller sent pics of them being packaged into shreaded newspaper, i requested bubble wrap but he said it would not fit in the boxes that way.
Boxes showed up.
Damage all over the calipers powdercoat finish. That looks like a wheel rub more than shipping damage to me.....
Footwear Walking shoe Automotive design Athletic shoe Personal protective equipment

Decals pealing.
Automotive tire Automotive lighting Wheel Motor vehicle Sports equipment

Rusty parts.
Green Hood Motor vehicle Automotive lighting Car

The pics he sent everything looks clean and new.
Motor vehicle Grass Asphalt Plastic Auto part

Road surface Food Asphalt Sidewalk Grass

Obviously these are pics from when he received them being done. No rust on the pads or hardware. No damage.
I made him aware the day i recieved them and sent multiple pics circling the damage.
I did not accuse him of anything.
He said it happened in shipping.
I filed a claim with fedex, they reviewed pics of the boxes that had zero damage and denied the claim. Claimed packing is the shippers responsibility.
Contacted the seller.
And showed him the rejection of claim.
Claimed that it showed a payment.
I called fedex and was told rejection.
Contacted seller.
He tells me i got paid and am trying to rip him off. Accuses me of this.
I don't think so brother.
I got played by a liar, a cheat, a thief.
Pay your paypal fees and trust nobody on here with your money.

If anyone can zoom in on the pics of the newspaper in the one pic he sent and read a date on that newspaper, i would bet it doesn't say 2021.

I just can't believe how an active member could rip someone off for almost $1,100.

Enjoy my hard earned cash you loser.

What goes around comes back around.

I honestly don't know what to do.
I do not want to get kicked off of here for starting a war with someone.
I am not a liar and my story is 100% truth.
I am just blown away that he actually had the nerve to accuse me of wrong doing.

I am in the middle of adopting a child and $1,100 is not an easy pill to swallow for nothing in return....

I just hope nobody else gets ripped off.
He was trying to sell wheels too.

Is that the packaging that you received them in? Just thrown in with newspaper like that?

Holy hell. Throwing heavy painted metal items in a box loose with nothing but newspaper? Was there really ever going to be any other outcome? Gotta say no one involved here was using any common sense. Seller is an obvious idiot and sorry but the second he sent something saying paper does a better job I would've cancelled. Easy for me to say I know but this was doomed from the get-go.

Green Machine this guy seems like a cheat and a sorry dude in general. You should definitely call him out! For 1, so he cannot get someone else. And 2, we would all love to know who this snake is. If, as you stated its him totally being the con, tell it like it is. I don’t think the moderators on here would turn on you as long as you just state the facts without making it personal and keep it about the behavior/dishonesty instead of just attacking their character. Throw that cat out of the bag man!

To me, the chips in the corners look like damage done while mounting/dismounting the wheels. That said, I would never package them the way you show.
I agree. These are nothing even close to perfect condition.

That sucks, sorry OP. Having been in the motorsport retail world a bit, I can tell you that besides bad packing, there are a lot of counterfeit parts out there. Fake Brembos are all over the place. I'll let you guess which region of the world they come from.

Well, if you can get an exact match on a 1 stage touch up paint, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how close it will match. You won’t see any of the top scratches when mounted with wheels, but I completely understand why you’re pissed. I’ve been in your shoes before. I paid for a predator tuner way back in the day and the idiot shipped it in its regular display box all the way from Tennessee to Dallas. I asked her to ensure it is in a proper shipping box with bubble wrap or paper. The thing arrived beat to hell with USPS tape barely holding it together. She said she thought it would hold up ok! It’s traveling 900 miles and being thrown around with other packages you Jack ass!!

That sucks.

It looks like the pictures of the calipers in the box with the newspaper are probably from when he originally picked them up/had them done and have to be old pictures.
The calipers looked pristine in that pic and what you received is clearly used & damaged and not in that condition.
What a bummer

This is one of those times where a picture with the item with a sign with the date & username would've come in handy

OP, you say in your post you did not use paypal, then you say you sent the money via paypal?

Obviously you must not have used Paypal protection. Why not?

Also, why was the seller so worried about the shipping costs when the buyer was paying for the shipping?

Wrap each caliper separately in bubble wrap secured with shipping tape.
Lay bubble wrapped calipers in packing peanuts or bubble cushion wrap.
Fill remaining space with more more packing peanuts or bubble cushion wrap.
Seal the box with plenty of good shipping tape, wrapped all the way around the box in two directions.
A quick Google search will show many examples of how something should be properly packaged for shipping to prevent damage.

I would agree OP, some of those marks clearly do not look like shipping damage, especially the long marks on top and the Brembo decal peeling.

We used paypal, but it was sent friends and family. So there was no protection. It wasn't about the fee cost, i just had faith in him.
I thought usually someone around for a while had good character and business practices or they would have been chased off by now.

I sent you pictures before they were shipped and they have no marks on them at all no brembo stickers are peeling which you claim or anything you’re accusing me of sending you damaged calipers which I never sell anything damaged if it was damaged I wouldn’t even advertise it for sale I only sell stuff that are in great condition because that is all that is on my car you showed me a email from FedEx that they settled the claim with a check and you’re trying to tell me that FedEx is doing nothing sounds a little fishy to me and you want to call me dishonest.. ask anybody that has bought stuff from me on this site and nobody will tell you I gave them anything that wasn’t in great condition as advertised

Can't lie with pics of the calipers, unless your saying i had an extra set of used sublime hellcat calipers laying around and i am trying to pull a fast one.
Where above does it show a check sent?
This is what i sent you.
Your name and phone number are on the claim and I told you to call.
Obviously, you did not.
