I'm going to order another Hellcat and would like to know if it's worth the extra 8k for a red-eye, if so what makes it worth it. Especially would like to here from people who actually made the move.

Thanks, Ron

Didn't make the move, but started with the Redeye. I did have and race in SCCA some modified Corvettes before my Challenger. At any rate, I like the insane power of the Redeye. And I like the widebody. I just drove a 60 mile round trip on some kick-ass country roads. My widebody, Redeye, Hellcat Challenger was formidable, to say the least. I'm guessing I averaged over 100 and had no big scares. I'm not saying it was responsible, but it sure was fun!

You'll always regret not getting the extra power if you don't get the Redeye. Where else can you gain 75 horsepower for a few grand? The Redeye is a bargain. Have fun.

Made the move. No regrets. Also went with the WB and 3.09’s to really differentiate more from the Hellcat I had previously. Cant see buying another of the same, if so why not just keep what I had right? This car feels like a different animal and it is. It feels better in every way. Stronger internals, axles, d/s, lots of upgrades with the RE aside from hp.
With that being said if you buy a standard body, 2.62 RE, it would be a lot harder to justify imo.

The price difference may be $8K more for a Redeye over a Hellcat, but don't forget the resale / trade-in value of the Redeye will also be higher. It is not like your throwing money away. If you can afford it, get the Redeye. JMO

I will be getting NB, don't really like the widebody.

I ran consistent 10.7s in my HC all stock (no tune, pullies or power add ons ) on Drag radials without any issues.

What can I expect with a RE?

Also could someone list what exactly the differences are, besides the larger blower?

Does anyone have any real-world experience with the torque reserve and power chiller, examples of what you noticed different would be big help.

Thanks, us much appreciated.

RE is fractionally quicker but not worlds quicker at the strip from what I’ve read here.
Differences depend on what year HC you had. Assuming you had a pre ‘19 from the chiller question.
Demon engine for one. It’s not just a HC engine with a bigger blower. Stronger internals.
Other things like the stronger Demon driveshaft, axles, etc.
Dual stage fuel pump like the Demon.
300 rpm higher redline.
Larger airbox.
Line lock.
No real world experience with the chiller or torque reserve yet.

Not many differences between a 2019 HC and a 2021+

  • driveshaft (15% "beefier") and axles (extreme-duty 41-spline rear axle half shafts)
  • engine internals (over 80% new; can handle up to 6400 rpm vs. 6200 rpm on the Hellcat)
  • less weight in NWB vs WB
  • $59,245 vs. $70,845 (+$11,600)
  • HC has a 6-speed manual option
  • colors (Frostbite, Gold Rush, Hellraisin, Sinamon Stick, Smoke Show)
  • SRT Power Chiller (on Redeye and Super Stock)

Ordered a 2021 Gomango Challenger Red-eye this afternoon, thanks for the input guys.

Oh just fyi to anyone on the fence, Owner showed me email from Dodge saying the 4k rebate will end next week.
You will love the Gomango color. My WB RE is Gomango and I get compliments all the time regarding the color. I order mine with the hood pins and black carbon stripes. I had a 15 HC and the RE with the WB package feels more stable. No regrets going with the RE. Good luck.

Started with the Redeye as well. Had many fast, modded cars though. Redeye all the way. I agree with an above post, you may regret getting less of a car, but you’ll not regret getting more of a car. You are ahead of the game off the jump, and if you choose to modify, its even better. Go for it.

Less weight NWB VS WB? What does that mean. I know WB is widebody, what is NWB?

4k rebate ending next week? It was my understanding that rebates always ended at the end of the month and were then replaced with the same amt, less, more or nothing.
