Hey guys I purchased the Bwoody intake with the rain shield and have a question on the install. I tried searching with no luck.
I watched almost every video on YT to install this, and everyone seems to struggle with getting the tube that runs from the front grill to the intake box off.
Is it necessary to take this tube off or can you run the Bwoody intake with it intact? Seems like if you left it in place (if it fits) it would concentrate more air directly to the filter possible keeping air intake temps down.

this is on a 2016 Charger Hellcat BTW.

I was going to leave the headlight intake pipe, but I didn't want air laser focused on one small spot on the filter.
There will still be plenty of cool air blowing in, you aren't blocking the headlight intake.

The pipe pulled out pretty easily for me though. Don't remember if I had to turn it, but it came right out.

I’m assuming yours is a challenger? The Charger intake pipe is a bit different from what I understand. Many people have struggled getting it out. Anyway, would the intake filter fit into place with that tube there?

Yes, I have a Challenger. I don't know if that pipe would hit the filter or not.

One other note on the install.... move the filter out towards the end of the pipe. Don't push it on as far as it will go or it will drastically reduce airflow
and only use the top part of the filter cone. The edge of the pipe will touch the inside of the cone and block off a lot of the filter. They don't have that
in the instructions but they really should.

That guy is quite a character. lol

He put that IAT cable on the wrong sensor though.

It goes on the IAT sensor around to the left of the one on the pulley snout. The sensor is on the one for the air coming into the chambers right after the blower's cooling brick.
The sensor he put it on is before boost. I've seen other videos that also get it wrong. The video below is the right way.

Sorry, and Thanks,
I did not watch it and I don't install parts. I had Tested a Bwoody back in 2015 as an R&D CAI.
I do have a Legmaker.......I can and have changed the battery in my Charger. The Key Fob battery too and checked my oil :) I can do some other things while at the track, but I usually have help.

I have an LMI but for the sake of install its all the same. That front grill should come out. I ended up slipping it in half as the seem where they abviously put the two halves together. This was after yanking on it with everything i had to get it to slip out.

I have a 19 and Trimmed the tube to keep it in tack. 2 people tried to remove theirs and broke it. been that way for a year and filter looks fine. all while still getting the air from the tube to grill as designed. Ya then i put a nice cover on it.

how much of the tube did you trim off? Is the whine more subtle with the tube there vs if it was removed (based on YT videos etc). I’m considering leaving the tube in to serve it’s designed purpose but also want more whine.
