Well first and foremost I did it! I am the proud owner of a 22 go mango hellcat redeye challenger. 350 miles on it so far, and in this short time I've noticed something. Every single person with a crappy beat up old car seems to think that they are a race car driver as soon as they're next to you at a redlight. It's never the people with nice cars, granted in the area I live there are very few. Just had this beat up old jeep give it everything he had coming out of the ol' Walmart parking lot stop light and I couldn't help but be amused as i watched him reach about 50 mph in a 35 trying to out distance me as I just sat back and cruised without even trying.

I refuse to race. You never know who they are. Could be a UC. If you get caught, there is no sense of humor. Somebody gets hurt? Well....

Don't even act like you're gonna race...

You can still enjoy the car...

Agreed I just smile as they drive off and hope it made their day. I mean, the possibility that I just made someone feel good about themselves without even needing to do anything is just one more justification beyond even the fact that I didn't spend 100k on a car just to have my license taken away.

Street racing = not smart. I fully understand the urge to "teach someone a lesson" but you'll be on the receiving end if something goes wrong...and it will be costly. To me, the biggest problem is that an innocent person can be harmed. I used to belong to a viper car club and we would get together for events and road trips. It was a blast but I had to stop when it turned into a race on two lane country roads, flying over hills and trying to follow the leader. Not worth it. Take it to the track. At the very least...use good common sense and don't harm others.

I drive it for my own pleasure, not for someone elses fantasy.
Oh and "roll racing" is stupid as ****! Scream 1,2,3 as fast as you can and then jump the start?! Yeah, that's racing??
I find more people come flying up on me while happily cruising down the road to either give me a thumbs up or just to stare!

On Wednesday I was a bad boy and and got pulled over (66 in a 55) from out of town dinner for wife's birthday. Wife and I had the sheriff that pulled us over laughing and asking more questions about the car, that he let me go with a warning and a "slow it down" I even told him it was a good thing he didn't clock me 10 seconds sooner!!
We we're driving home on a long stretch of straight 55 mph road with a curve at the end about 3 miles down. We were talking and I looked down and said hey check it out I hit the 500 miles recommended break in. I told her I'm going to hit the throttle a little harder to see what it can do, well we went form 55 to about 112 in blink of an eye, literally!! I just let off the gas and let it slow down and just as we come up to the slight curve there was a sheriff coming the other direction. As soon as I saw him I watch his SUV nose drop a little and wheel start to turn to the outside and told the wife "shit, he's pulling us over" sure enough he flipped and pulled me over. This area has big ditches on both sides so I just continued to roll until I found a flat stretch that was safe for us and him to walk on (edge of a mowed yard) and pulled over and waited for him to pull in behind us.

I just got my windows tinted the day before and wife said you're going to have to open the door to talk to him. I said there is no way I'm popping out of a car on a sheriff, screw damaging the tint! So we put the windows down as he was walking up, had my info out and ready for him, we both had huge smiles on our faces. He was very polite and took my info and went back to his car and now all the cars that where behind us when I pulled my little stunt come around the corner and the wife and I just sat there with smiles waving to them as they went passed us. I know they were all saying dumbass! Got what you deserved, etc, etc :ROFLMAO: I know that's what they were saying because that's what I would have been saying! I did deserve it, my bad, play around and pay the price.

Anyway when he came back he said I had an excellent driving record and asked me tons of questions about the car and said we were so nice and polite he was just giving us a warning!! Not every screw up ends badly if you try to be mostly safe, don't harm anyone and you've got a good attitude, be respectful and don't be too stupid.

I miss it dearly…

There was only ONE RULE in a street race. I’ll Venmo $1000 to first the person that posts what it was and explains how it worked : )

in the 70s we raced for pink slips. most of the time, i’d take their girlfriend instead of the car.

Out of curiosity, did he even mentioned at what speed did he clocked you?

66 in a 55 zone, 11 miles over. I'm sure that it was higher, but by the time he "Locked" his radar, 66 was the only number he could "Write" him for. Not many Sherriff pull you over for 11 over the speed limit. Bobo, I'm sure you knew he saw you at a much higher speed than his locked number, love the story though.

Agreed, He could have been a real d!*K if he wanted to but I was very cooperative and polite. That always helps.
Actually they will pull you over on this section of State Route 6 in as about 35 miles of road as it is considered a "ZERO TOLERANCE ZONE" and it is marked every couple miles stating that with big road signs. In this section they will ticket you for as little as 5 over, swerving, passing incorrectly, being on the phone, etc, etc. Like I said it was stupid I chose to do something retarded on probably the worst road to do it on and I was very lucky to get a sheriff in a good mood! Lesson learned, I'll be good and wait for our town cruise to goof off, might try the line lock in front of my house to see how it works. Its a public road in a sub division and a cul de sac, plus I own all the property around the end so should not be an issue to try it, just can't make it a habit.
