Hey all,

I just wanted to post up a question regarding CANADIAN Hellcat allocations and ask how they differ from the U.S. allocation.

My experience has been a tad frustrating (mostly due to dealer uncertainty). I keep reading about people walking into U.S. dealers and asking "do you have an allocation" to which they receive a straight answer - Yes or No.

I've been in contact with THREE dealerships in my city; two of them said there was NO allocation process in Canada and that if you order a car without any options that are delayed (like sunroof, hood, etc) your car will be built without any problem. The third dealer said the cars were only being built in Canada based on a lottery system and it was next to impossible to get one.

I placed my order at one of the dealers that said there was no delay and am hoping for the best - that is, until today...

I received an e-mail from my sales-person who had my order looked at by someone involved with the process @ Chrysler and their reply was "I doubt this unit will be built for model year 15. It was ordered in December. All allocation was SOLD OUT in September..."

I'm not sure what that means as I thought there was allocation each month based on the info in this forum and that letter from Tim Kuniskis. Then I read that article on Allpar that talked about Charger and Challenger Hellcats being completely sold out for the model year, but saw on the forums that people said that was just the January allotment.

In short, what is going on with Challenger Hellcats in CANADA and do I have any hope for a 2015 model?

If I do get bumped to a 2016, when might that be built? June/July or much later?

Also, will I miss out on Sublime?

Thanks,

The short answer is no one knows. You can go to whatever number of dealers and they have no idea. It does not appear to work based on the US allocation system though.

All you can do is get the order in and wait. Once it gets to June - July or so then you will have a good idea if it wilk happen for 2015 or not

At this point impossible to tell for sure what is going on

If you are in BC Canada I know where there will be the 2015 Challenger Hellcat, white, brass monkey wheels and red interior that is available.
Over in Ontario so that doesn't help... hehe (plus, I'm waiting on a Sublime cat - the white sure does look amazing though)

Does anyone know how likely it is that ResumeSpeed would comment on this thread? I'd love to hear what he has to say since he's the best shot we have at asking someone 'in the know'.

It's strange that the allocation process definitely seems different in Canada, but nobody can explain how it works...

I would say that the chances would be 100%...

I am not familiar with exactly how the process works for Canada, I would assume that there would be some similarities to the U.S. system. I have never heard of any sort of "lottery" system. As has been officially stated by Chrysler, production of the Hellcat is not being intentionally "limited", this would apply to Canada as well.

While only about 70 have been built so for for Canada, hundreds more will be built for the 2015 model year. The highest percentage so far has been for Ontario dealers. The 2015 model year is being extended well into September. The 2016 models will launch near the end of September.

I would keep your 2015 on order, there is a decent chance that it will be built at some point, just no way to predict. There are many people here in the U.S. that have ordered before you and who are still waiting. I would also check with some other local dealers and see what they have to say, although you'll probably get a bit of semi-accurate information mixed in with a lot of inaccurate information.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, RS!

If the 2016 models are launching near the end of the summer, will we find out what kind of changes there may be well in advance? Hopefully nothing too drastic changes for the next model year -- most importantly, do you know if Sublime is going to stick around long enough for me to get one or is it gone for '16?

With the model year extended, what happens to the summer shut-down at Brampton Assembly? I assume they still take time off but then resume building the 2015's? (or do they cruise right on through the summer?)

I wonder if the Canadian allocation process is, in fact, separate from the U.S. system; with our smaller population and much smaller demand for this kind of car up here, it would seem near impossible for us to fight for cars if we have to go up against Hellcat-hungry 'Murica! (7000+ orders now?)

Do you have any idea how many CANADIAN orders there have been up to this point?

2016 launch is late September, changes would be known ahead of time, although I expect them to be minimal. Initial launch colors will not be confirmed until early June when final decisions are made. The 2-week summer shut down will occur as usual in mid-July, with the 2015s continuing production afterwards. No idea on Canadian orders, don't have access to that info.

Is there anyone on this forum, that we know of, that lives in Canada and either has a VIN or the actual car and can share their experience?

Do Canadian dealers know if they have allocation or not?

I'm dying for info over here...

VINs are started to appear a little quicker. I know 2 locals who have their VINs (both challengers)

And Canadian dealers have no clue about their allocations unlike the states. All they can do is put the order through and wait for it to be picked up

Agreed, allocations do not seem to be the same as US. My dealer told me that back in August.
All we can do is sit and hope

There are at least two Hellcats sitting in Edmonton for sale at this moment. One is at a Hyundai dealership, the other at Crosstown.

The owner of the Hyundai dealership put in his order, received it, and is re-selling it. It's on Kijiji.ca with an asking price of $110,000.

I don't know offhand what Crosstown is asking for theirs, but I will guarantee that there has been a substantial "market adjustment" added. precedented by the $93,000 sale price of the Sublime at Derrick Dodge.

Hell2pay has his & when I get a chance I am going to contact him to go & see it. I believe he got his from a Whitby dealer (Scarsview).

Hello all, just signed up as a member. My frustration levels are high and just wanted to share my pain. Back in September went to a local dealer website and built my dream car. Early October walked into the dealers with a build spec and placed my order and laid down a chunk of cash. I was told Id be in the second build which starts in Dec. Come December I'm told the 2nd build is delayed. Today I was told I won't be in the second build but MAYBE the third!!! I'm on the east coast and I only see a lot of Blacks, Grays and Whites for sale. I've looked around and I don't want to pay a markup for a car that's sitting on the lot and isn't exactly what I want. Sorry for the rant.

My salesperson just e-mailed me after I harassed her a bit, said she called her friend from Chrysler Canada and was told that they are "only pulling 20-25 vehicles per month for Canada; the rest are going to the U.S."

I wonder if anyone on here (*cough*resumespeed*cough) can find out just how many orders are pending for Canada only? If we can find out THAT piece of information, it might give us a decent estimate on how long we're going to be waiting!

Sounds low, but maybe,at that rate that would only be approx 150-200 cars for the model year ( Feb-Sept )
If that's so, going to be some real peed off people.
There are supposedly 1000 plus orders for Canada
