New to the forum. Did a quick search, but couldn't find much on the topic.

I placed an order and put down a deposit for a Super Stock on Jan 27th. Received a VIN the next day and since then there has been no movement (like many of the posts I read). Came across a good deal on a low miles Redeye Widebody available right now for purchase. I called, texted and emailed the dealer no less than 3 times each to cancel my order and each time the GM who placed my order is either unavailable or doesn't return my call/text.

Anyone know if you are obligated to purchase the car once it arrives? Seems like cars damaged in delivery can be refused, but that's a different issue.

Appreciate the wealth of info on the forum and sorry if any of this has been posted already.

Do both if you can afford it. Get the Redeye, drive the piss out of it, then sell it when the SS comes in. Or sell the SS for more $$$.

Was your deposit refundable? Some dealers offered that as they wanted the grab the order. The dealer will have ZERO problem selling the SS. In fact, what was the deposit and where is the dealer? Maybe I'll pay you for the order. :)

Dealer said deposit was refundable if the order wasn't picked up, but I'd lose it if I backed out afterwards. Deposit was $1000 at Fletcher Dodge in Jonesboro, AR. Yes, I live in podunk Arkansas :). They are usually pretty solid and a bunch of good guys, don't know why its been such a problem this time around.

Contact Dodge Customer Service to see if they can get a better update on your SS and if it is even going to get built this year. Explain the situation to them and go from there

I believe if u have a vin, you should be in d status.
Check out the tracking thread on here.
just need your last name and von.
It will show progression on your build.
Trying to be positive for you. I think once the JB
Craziness calms down your SS will get built.
Im not a fan of buying used high performance cars as I’ve been burnt before. Never know how they were treated. JMO

As stated already, you are definitely on the hook to buy it. You might get your deposit back if you are insistent enough too. Then again, you might can flip the one you don’t want to keep for a profit if you are getting a decent deal without a lot of dealer mark ups. If you can afford to that is…Put zero miles on it and it seems almost a sure thing that you will be able to flip it the way sales are getting on these babies.

Me too. My 2014 gt500 was used and it was a POS! My dream car ruined! Not per se that the gt500 is a POS, but the one I bought was. That is what pushed me to decide that my next car was going to be brand new and I set my eyes on a hellcat

EDIT! Sorry… I meant definitely NOT on the hook to buy it!

There's also got to be a clause regarding fulfillment. A dealership can't just sit on a deposit for 187 years, dangling "well, we don't know when we'll deliver the car, but we will." Four months may be too short to invoke whatever that clause is, but it's got to exist.
