told I can not offer help or give my cost on driveshafts. Supporting venders do not like it. I was told I had to become one to help people out.

I imagine personal messages should be kept as such. Between you and the user.

I also think it's pretty fair and reasonable. Sorry no sympathy from me here. You were doing a nice thing offering these at cost, but you shouldn't be getting your knickers in a twist about this.

Jim, although I can't imagine making my Hellcat go any faster than it is, I commend you for generously offering your knowledge, experience and talents to those who wish to do so! I don't understand the politics of your "gag order", but I'm sure that friends will have a way of "socializing" at appropriate times. Hats off to you. You're a true gentleman!!

Whilst I can see where they are coming from re custom made parts like the driveshaft etc. But general technical help for numb nuts like me I cannot see being a problem. Can the moderators clarify this point please.

He is more than welcome to provide advice/help and free services. The issue as CK has pointed out is selling products or services (such as a driveshaft) without being a supporting vendor.

DrBuick you don't have to go anywhere... All of us enjoy your posts, insight and humor. :)

What does it cost to be a site vendor on the site? Some of the forums I am on are as little as $50/ month.

I'm sure we can set up a donate link on Doc's profile to cover this if that is the issue.

Closing this one up folks. Everyone follows the same rules. If a member wishes to sell product to the community they must become a vendor first. It's rule number 9 in the forum guidelines. Has always been and will always be. No exceptions.
