I have that under my car seat but seeing as mine is 6 months, she doesn't produce a lot of mess yet.

ya I'm not worried as much about the mess, just the indention that might get formed in the seat itself for having the car seat in so tight.

I don't think any of the mats would protect against indentation, they are not very think or "cushiony"

that's kind of what I'm thinking too, hence my thread...as maybe someone knows of a hard one or thick or something that works well. I'm still going to research on my own and will post here if I find something.

I have 2 child seats in the back of mine... I just fold a beach towel in half and lay it on the seat before I strap the seat in... that has worked great in all my cars to protect the seats, and the Laguna has been no exception

Last summer I strapped my kids car seats in my srt8 Magnum. When I took them out to sell it It left lines where the strap that goes over the head rest. I strapped down the seats so tight it actually damaged the foam in the seat and it never went back to normal. On my HC I will strap them in but once we are done cruising Im gonna pull them out so not to damage my Laguna.

I use Prince Lionheart seat protectors in all of our cars. I also have clear heavy vinyl protectors for the front seat backs so there not getting scuffed & dirty when the kids kick them. You should be able to pick both up at Babies R Us.

Perhaps go to a craft store and get some of that foam padding that comes in sheets? You could get some fabric and cover them, even have cut out holes for the seat belts to be clipped into place. Could even scotch guard the fabric covering to further protect against spills and to keep the fabric cleaner for longer. Lay the pad over the seat, then buckle the car seat in place. The thickness of the foam should help protect against the seats leaving indented marks in the leather. Just a thought.

Zebug,

Just bought one of these, found it on a discount site. Seems pretty study and might prevent the indentation. If we make it to the meet up later this month, I will try to remember to bring it, if you want to see it. The Britax one looks like it might work too.

Oh, they work, you won't get any seat damage using them. I don't think anybody straps their kid's seats as tight as I do & none of our seats have been damaged in 8 years....

I have 2 seats in my cars. I got a waterproof bench seat cover for the Challenger. I tuck it in all the way around and out the seats on top. I have the red interior.

My Ram has leather seats that would be dented (stretched out) but the "feet" on the baby seat bottom, so I put some thin rubber mats under them. Works like a charm.

I also got the Weathertech mats that catch spills in both vehicles. ...and I treated the carpets with the 303 waterproofer stuff. I'm fairly well protected from kiddo krap. ;)
