Had something really weird happen tonight. Was leaving the shop and set the alarm as I always do. Walked out, locked the door and heard the car start up. It ran for maybe 2 seconds and shut off. Stood there thinking how the hell and it did it again. Ran for a couple seconds and shut off. Went back in and turned the shop alarm off. Removed the car cover and no lights on dash. I disconnected the battery just to be safe.
Anyone had anything like this happen?

That is bizzare! Doesn't surprise me though in this day and age of remote start/satellite start. Maybe yo have a Christine on your hand.

Man that is strange! Makes my inner conspiracy side say someone is/has cloned your key remotely or something. Hopefully not. Yeah a battery disconnect will stop that action no matter what the cause. Never even heard of such...Very strange indeed.

I'd swear I saw a thread about something similar but can't find it. I'm not sure popping the hood will stop this. It didn't stay running like remote start would, ran for appx. 2 seconds each time and shut off. My biggest concern would be if it did stay running and not time out like remote start would.

I don't think anyone is/has cloned the key because I can't make the car do that with the key.
Maybe it can be done and I don't know it? Maybe possible someone could hack into a computer and cause this.
Anyone heard of these cars being hacked?

Anything is possible but the car has been stored in that shop with the same alarm system for almost 3 years
and this is the only time it's happened. Really weird.

Are you the original owner? I have heard of people doing a remote start from the U Connect app. Have a friend who purchased a used HC and his car would remote start in the middle of the night. We Discovered the prior owner still had access to the car U connect services to also include locking and unlocking, cars location, and remote start. It’s a big JackazZ thing to do, and it happens!

Yes, I’m the original.
It didn’t remote start, fired up for appx. 2 seconds and shut off. Did it twice in side a minute. I pulled the cover up and there were no lights on the dash. Watched for 5 minutes and it didn’t happen again so I disconnected the battery.
Really weird.

No. That is what would make it REALLY scary. I had a manual neon once I put in a remote start. Evidently it was in gear a couple times and bumped into something right ahead of it. Oops! I disabled the remote start after that.

I'll definitely let you all know if it's ever figured out. Roads have been salted so it's grounded until spring and I'm really busy.
Probably be mid-February before I have time to look at it.
Car is under warranty until May, so I'll make sure it's documented before it runs out.
I own an independent shop and work on allot of intermittent symptoms, hardest part is getting it to happen.
Really hoping someone has had this happen and already figured it out. I don't usually have that kind of luck though!

Nope....whenever I got a new car it was just added to the "fleet." I had access to all of my (prior) Chargers on my Uconnect app up until I called Sirius/Guardian or whatever a month ago (when I got my Pacifica) and they removed them all from the app for me.
