RS, my VIN# is 773661. My car was built the week of feb 9th and as of last week was undergoing inspection. I was told there was a small possibility the car could be delivered this upcoming week. As luck would have it, the guy from the dealership who gives me updates is out next week. I was wondering if you might have insight as to the status of my car currently. If it is this week, that would be great to know so I can make arraignments. Thanks so much for your help.

On 1/9/15 or before is a pretty large number, has anyone determined what group was having issues, I haven't seen too many complaints so I take it the number may be small, so what was different on these cars?

I'd be interested in how exactly to read the two dates also. For example, the 08113…would that me August 11 in the 3rd hour or August 1 in the 13th hour? Am I totally way off? LOL

The top one of 8-08 would be August of 2008 I assume?

Seems to be missing a digit on the sticker, as it should be "MDH: 081113" (August 11 Hour 13).

That's what I figured...I have to go check mine this afternoon.

Here's mine...looks like mine was built in January of 2015.

Looks like the actual build date was January 7th in the 22nd hour.

Would this be the correct way of reading it? If so, then I think I would need the update being only 2 days before the cut off date.

So if we do not seem to be having any issue that are noticed in this, would it be safe to say that the update is unnecessary? And if you take your vehicle into the dealer for any other reason, would they apply the update if they see it is avaliable?

correct on the first question.
module updates are done automatically only if it's a recall/RRT. all others are done when TSB described symptoms are observed or the customer has a specific concern as noted in said TSB. otherwise, if you want it done, ask for it.

Would there by any downside to getting the update, just to be safe? I would think not, but just curious.

this software update will change some of the transmission's shift characteristics. as long as you can live with the consequences, there will be no downside.

back in 2006, many SRT8 owners insisted on getting the latest flash for their NAG1 transmission. most were happy with the results but several were quite pissed that they could no longer hold a gear past redline.

if you are not experiencing the symptoms described in the TSB, I suggest you wait until those that need and get the update post about their experiences/likes/dislikes of new transmission behaviour. then, you can make up your mind whether or not you're willing to live with it.

back in 2006, we were able to revert back to older flash versions for those that were disappointed. unfortunately, that is no longer an option. there is no going back.

Noticeable difference in tranny function after this was performed (in all modes.)
Is this good or bad?? Can you be more specific?

Good. Need more time in car but short answer in track sport modes different down shift behavior more consistent best way to describe. Upshift it seems not to get hung up (know hard to interpret that again more consistent behavior.) No time manually shifting haven't tested. No time using launch control can't report. What I can say now. All good.

I still find it interesting that only a small number of cars show signs of an issue, how is it they are different from other cars, yes the one's after the date are done at the factory but what about all others?
