The shops around me usually do catless mid pipes.
Instead of wasting money, I wanted to see if someone else did the same thing before I jump on the boat.

Yes.
I have read somewhere that it could still throw the CEL, because of the higher flow.
Dunno what year you have but from what I have been reading the rear sensors are pretty sensitive. Apparently they are looking at temperature as well as what’s in the gasses. Easiest way around a cel is to turn off the rears in the tune. There’s no reason to change the mid pipes n cats without a tune anyways so there ya go

No clue on CEL but feels like a waste of money, especially with the 392, unless your cats are bad. Their are hellcats running a 1000hp with stock cats so I don't think they are a big restriction anymore.

Many prolly do a cat delete for sound. That is easily understood cuz cats muffle sound quite a bit. From performance standpoint the intake valve opens on the exhaust stroke. Do the math. Not to mention restrictions before a X pipe decrease its scavenging effect. (For those that still run either the oem or a aftermarket X pipe)

*I have never compared a high flow and a oem cat on a flow bench so can not comment on high flow cats from a performance standpoint. I am certain a 3” round tube flows best when there is nothing inside of it tho : )

I have a 2017 Scat Pack Shaker. I’m still stock beside the catback.
My understanding is the high flow and less restrictive car would help somewhere (low or high rpm, I’m honestly not exactly familiar) with the horsepower and torque.
I have seen 392 cars with catless mid pipes that outperform the ones with the stock catted pipe on the drag and roll racing, even without a tune.
My issue with the catless pipe are the smell and also the loud sound which is not my taste especially that my catback is basically a mid muffler delete

I hear that! Not a fan of the ‘clappy’ straight pipe sound either. Hear one get on it and I turn my head expecting to see a low rider not a shaker or HC. Not into the bangin n poppin on decel either. Have stock 392 as well and am building my own system for just those ^^^ reasons

You can use O2 Sensor anti foulers if you don't want to tune the car.

They sell adjustable ones as well. They come with 3 different size orfices and can be custom drilled to fine tune if need be
