Tomorrow 3-4-22 is Cecil County Dragways opening night and I was just wondering if anyone from here is going?

Friday night March 4th Street Night is
CANCELLED DUE TO COLD WEATHER.

Saturday March 5th Test-n-Tune is
CANCELLED DUE TO COLD WEATHER.

Sunday March 6th - ON GO!
OGS1320 Street Wars Maryland.
Gates open 9am, Racing and show at 10am.
Racers $80 each, Show Cars $35 each,
Crew and Spectators $25 each,
Children 11 and under are free with paid adult.

Here is Pa the Temp this morning was 21 degrees. It does get a little warmer as I go south.
The lowest track temp should be 50 degrees. Hell Cat owners should not be 1st down a cold track

Sucks they cancel in 58' (Sat) weather, which would be perfect low DA weather, when the other tracks are open. Sunday is supposed to rain off and on all day.

Another day wasted at Cecil, seams like a thing with them last few years was hoping it would change this year but looks like more of the same.

US 13 in Delmar is opening tomorrow as well.

They will actually be open to and $20 cheaper, sucks it's 50miles further away though.

I went there for the first time last fall, pretty nice people and track. They said they have made a lot of improvements for this year.

Looks like I'll be heading south to US13 instead of Cecil 🙁

Cecil County Dragway is my home track since I only live about 30 minutes away, but they have gone down hill a bit ever since covid hit. Their track prep has still been good, but their prices have gone up and they seem unorganized in directing the lanes. They use to have a Wed. night test n tune which I loved since the track wouldn't be over crowded and I would always get at least 10 runs in, but they stopped that ever since covid.

Same here, Wednesday night was my favorite as well.

Would be nice if they didn't turn off comments on their Twitter and FB when they cancel for no reason.

I love the track but they do this a lot lately, seems like they have better things to do or something, Saturday would have been a perfect day.
Oh well off to check out US13 new setup instead.

Great day yesterday at US13. Ran a 1.4 60ft 10.4 1/4.
Only problem was the guy crashing on the second run of the day and delaying everything for a hour and a half 🤬.

Had a good time but the 1.5 hour drive one way is just a pain, but at least they were open 😁

I much prefer private rentals at MIR. I no longer have the patience to deal with the morons that overpopulate test n tunes. I also like the layout of MIR over Cecil. I'm @ 90 minutes from both tracks.

Yes. It also has a constant tail wind, runs downhill, in a polar vortex, towards a black hole.

Heard great things about that track, but unfortunately it's 2.5hrs away, one way 🙁.

That's how far I am from Atco. I've never been there, but I'd of been willing to make the drive, but I've heard it's gone downhill (figuratively, relax folks) recently. Historically it's been a really fast track too.
BTW, the reason these mid Atlantic tracks are fast is because they are close to sea level and have good to great DA October through April. I prefer to run in early November. I never race in the summer.

Went there last fall was ok, very nice people running the track, surface itself needs to be redone not worth the $100 they were charging for a tnt.

Every NHRA track in the country uses a compulink timing system. It’s horrible and I have a bunch of resentment towards both the company and the NHRA for sticking with them. You know damn well NHRA is getting a kick back from them - remember when Steve Johnson clearly got to the finish line first at Indy but the score boards said he didn’t? Why else wouldn’t they upgrade? One of the biggest races of the year and the timing system couldn’t even pick the correct winner of a professional category class. Geez.
Anyways their system runs on ms-dos. Even tho that operating system has prolly been around longer than some of you guys have been alive I do not believe Cecil (or anywhere else) can slow down the clock. I remember the allegations about them doing so but I can’t see it. Besides, Valdosta (sgmsp) is faster : )
