Cedar Creek Dragway and Thoughts About Which Cars I Want to Run.

Nothing to do Friday night so went out to Cedar Creek Dragway. Haven't driven my Hellcat much since I got in the last of December. So much rain here. There is a bit of a learning curve to launch with the PZero's.
There wasn't a lot of cars there and I mostly ran single to try to get the launch down a bit better and try out the different settings. ( Felt really bad for the guy that got beat by the Tesla.) After I got a bit better nobody wanted a race. One guy in a 75-77 vette with a bug catcher sticking through the hood. What was the guy? Paris Fish? At least Paris had a Blower in his Vette. LOL Anyway, he pulled up while I was working with the settings but went ahead and ran before me. Till I see their car run straight and make sure they know what they are doing, I'm not putting my car next to them. I guess after he saw my times, he got pretty scarce.
I've been racing street/strip cars for twenty plus years and have seen my share of idiots.
On my very first race, at a track anyway, a guy in a very nice 68 SS Big Block Camaro pulled up next to me. I was thinking, what a nice car. Surely, he would know how to drive it. I had big ole TA radials on the rear and had to coax it off the line and when we left, I had him. He blew his tires off the line but he had more power than I did and started catching me fairly soon. The next thing I knew, he disappeared. When he hit second gear, he basically ran off the track. Lucky for him there wasn't a wall at that point so no harm was done.
The thing is, if we would have been in opposite lanes he probably would have went right into the side of my car. I had worked so hard on it and had that car for many year, still do.
With these cars, we are the ones everyone wan't to beat if they can, but remember there is only one you and even if you don't get hurt, your HellCat may be hard to replace.
Thanks for reading along if you got this far.

One other point I would like to make. Is it just me? How interesting is a race with a trailered car ?
Is it just me? I have a few Camaros, big blocks, small blocks, set up basically to be street legal but I usually trailer them because the tracks are all and hour away or more. Anyway, I seem to be more interested in racing newer muscle cars. ZL-1 Camaros, Shelby Mustangs, ect. It's not really that hard to build up an old camaro or similar that will run with us being stock through the eighth or the qtr especially with NO2. I've been on both sides of the fence running the old stuff and the new, but just don't care about running the old stuff that's been modded to the extreme.
Just my 2 cents.

I forced myself to read this twice and I still don't know what your asking or trying to say?
Sounds like you ran a T&T night where anything can go down the track, usually not the best track prep because they will run street tires and screw up the track, also most racers will stay away because of that.......try running an event for MOPARs or modern muscle, these are usually bracket or index where it test the drivers skill.....
