Hey everyone!

This morning I decided to remote start the car since it was cold outside. It turned on and idled for 10 seconds before it shut off. I went to start while in the car and I've had a CEL since then. It's been pretty weird with the shifting too since. I don't know what is up but would love for some input please. I do have extended warranty that covers everything, but still would love to see if any of y'all would have an idea as to what it could be?

I'm also attaching a video of the engine. I opened the hood while it was idling and honestly doesn't sound too healthy to me, but then again I could be overthinking stuff.

Much appreciated, hope everyone has a blessed day!

Sounds like standard fuel injector tick tick at idle to me.

Yup, I hear injectors and nothing out of the ordinary. Code and if any tuning has been done?

Alright guys just got to Advanced Auto to read the code, looks like it is P050B. Never had this code, how serious we talking here?? I understand it's very cold out here in Colorado in the morning, but I haven't had this code with my scat pack or last hellcat. And yes this one is completely stock other than muffler delete that I did last week.

If you search around this topic has been seen before. Seems to be isolated to remote cold weather starts and at least at one point in time looks to have been cured by a throttle body recall campaign. The code itself froman ECM perspective look like it would be triggered by faulty data coming from the crank or cam position sensors. If it were my car, I would clear the code and be easy with the car for a bit, might have just been a glitch from the car sitting for a while, etc.

If you scroll through your menu, the car has a diagnostics section where you can pull your own codes right from your dash

Sounds a bit ticky to me but you are right over the engine. And if the engine is cold it can be a bit noisier that normal. Noise transmission through the cold engine is better. At any rate I hear no one tick which stands out and which if present could be cause for some concern.

If you tell me the oil has some miles on it -- is close to being due to be changed -- that could explain the tickiness. (As an aside, I assume the engine is filled with an approved oil (Pennzoil or there are one or two other brands recognized as being suitable to use in this engine) of the proper multi-viscosity: 0w-40?)

As oil accumulates miles the engine gets noisier. It was always a bit of a surprise when I changed the oil in my (previous cars) or got a car back after an oil change how quiet the engine was after the fresh oil and this with the fresh oil up to temperature, too.

But even if the engine oil is fresh I don't hear anything out of the ordinary.

I always noticed my cars do get louder in the winter, belts shrink, metal contracts, liquids flow slower that type of thing. Sounds normal to me, I was actually expecting to hear the infamous "Hemi tick".

Guys, you are freaking this guy out lol.
That engine sounds normal.
Go record under your hood at idle and listen.

Exactly right. Often when I lived in CA I'd get into my car -- various cars over the years -- early in the morning with the car quite cold -- well, cold for the area where I lived in CA -- from sitting outside under a carport all night and the amount of noise the engine emitted was remarkable. And even underway the rest of the car... just noisy.

Drive to work. Park the car. Then after work come to the car after it had been out in the sun all day and quite warm from this. Upon starting the car the amount of noise was remarkably less. And quite a bit less noisy when underway.

Now in Benton County AR I still note the difference in noise from a cold engine/cold vehicle to the noise from admittedly not a dead cold engine but one near ambient temperature engine with the rest of the vehicle warmed by the sun and the much higher afternoon temperature.

I'm so sorry guys been so busy with work these past two days, but I really appreciate the help and love I get on these forums, y'all really like another family to me!

Well I'm glad the engine sounds fine, I also feel very stupid that I just realized I can see the codes on the EVIC.... So with that being said, I did buy a decent little code scanner and cleared the code for now and got a pretty detailed report which I'll attach. It still definitely seems a little off to me with the shifting and power. Should I check my throttle body and my CAI to see if anything is wrong? Maybe a leak or anything? I did delete my mufflers last week, think it could be an exhaust leak? The sound is definitely not what a muffler deleted hellcat should sound like.

Either way I really appreciate everyone's help and hope you all have a blessed weekend!

For the P050B error code the info at this link may be of some value:

In what you posted I see other issues that suggest a low voltage problem. My 2018 Hellcat logged some low voltage errors -- Dodge proprietary errors -- due to lack of sufficient use. These cars do not like to sit unused for any real length of time. My Hellcat was much "happier" being used several times a week mainly for my 30 mile work commute.

It would not be a bad idea to double check the throttle body and CAI to ensure they are not leaking. The fact you specifically mention CAI suggests you've modified the factory intake (which my experience with my Hellcat is just fine). So there is a chance you might have muffed the installation or something has come loose.

And since you deleted the mufflers recently checking for any exhaust leaks is also not a bad idea. This falls under the "last thing touched first thing suspected".
