I'm wondering why dodge skip some options on the challenger. On the charger you can move the driver seat with electronic controls for all direction. You can also save you're seat's setting on a 2 saves button memory. You can add to that the complication for having a sunroof, no heated or cooling cup holder... I know it's no big deal but does somebody know why the challenger were left behind for these features? I know that the whole interior was remade for 2015 models so I don't know why they didn't include these basic things...

- Challenger driver seat - the upper portion is manual to allow people to quickly get in and out of the backseat; same reason it doesn't have the memory seat incorporated
- sunroof - likely a structural issue that doesn't bode well with the Challenger at high speeds
- heated/cooling cup holder - this could be something to add for MY2016

Weight issues? I'm sure some market analysis was done during development as well. Short of the sunroof (the generally accepted theory for dumping this option has to do with structural issues - rayzazoo is correct) all of the other options would make money and increase profits...only if there was enough anticipated demand. Maybe they (FCA) will see it differently for 2016.

It's always been like this. The 08 charger has climate control where as when the challenger was brought in 08' it didn't have climate control. Challengers never had heated/cooled cup holders etc.

they literally are trying to seperate the cars even though they are literally the same thing minus the doors.

Because it's a muscle car and not a sedan.

All of you're answers seem possible. Maybe they want to keep the muscle car feel... I think Dodge held some options down and we are going to see them in the 2016 models. I love the car and my post was not to be negative on the Cat, I was just wondering why.

i still wonder why they dont offer a M6 on the Charger...it would free up some A8s for the challenger.....do they think they wouldnt sell enough to bother? is there really much engineering needed to make it work?

maybe it will show up for 2016...maybe 10-20% would pick a M6 id bet

same with the blacked out hood.....why not for the charger......why a roof and not a hood

I think dodge made it clear that there is a difference between the two car. The charger is more of a family sedan with a muscle car spirit and the challenger is the pure muscle car with two doors and the retro look. The charger is a big seller for police car and company car too and the A8 seem to fit the need more in this segment. Dodge don't see the need to put M6 on charger. It's sad for us because I remember back in 2012 I wanted a challenger srt8 but I chose the charger just because the challenger was so cheap in the inside (cheap plastic, bad stereo, no technology ). Glad they change the interior in the 2015 model!!

Just a thought on the memory seats...elsewhere on this site, and even on Jay Leno's review all said no one else would drive this car but the owner...if no one else will drive it, what use is a memory seat...just sayin'.

One thing that annoys me is why can't they put one touch up and down on both windows! Not hard and very convenient.

I read somewhere the reason there are no manual transmissions in Chargers is that they weren't crash tested with an automatic. Dodge would have to dole out some $ to do so.

I recall one video, talking with a Dodge rep (can't remember if he was an engineer or marketing guy) but their market research showed that it wasn't worth the effort to make the charger with the M6.... Just not enough people would buy it

Do you think they are going to change the manual transmission for the 2016 models?? Even if the Tremec was beefed up, it's still the same one used in the viper for a while. Maybe a M7 with rev matching like the new corvette.

The charger and challenger both have the same induction. The left turn signal on the charger happens to cover it up that's why it has the inlet through the light. The charger has it too it's just behind the SRT badge. It is has separate high beams instead of bi lamp I'm sure they would have had to come up with something similar to what they did with the challenger
whats missing from the Charger that the Challenger has?
blacked out hood
air induction head light
M6
new taillights

could go both ways on this argument...im sure lots of charger guys would love a M6 and a blacked out hood
