After a 3 month wait, I went to close the deal on my 2022 Challenger HCWB today. The salesman informed me when I got there that my Challenger had been damaged during shipping. The nose of the front bumper was ran into something. The paint is damaged as well as the stripes. He says they will take care of it and get it fixed at an accredited shop. Waiting to hear back from him on the next steps.

He said I could order another one but the price would reflect the current MSRP. Not sure what to do. Looking for some constructive input on how to handle this situation.

Let 'em fix the paint, do not order a new one! The dimples in the stripes are inserts for plates.

Be a lot less wait time to just get them to fix it…. I would wait on signing papers until it’s done. Just needs a carbon stripe kit for the bumper and touch up the 2 scratches.

I would let them fix it but definately get new stripes and re paint. Those are where the plate bracket would go but it looks like whatever rubbed it pushed the stripes in the holes deeper. Mine were not like that. Also, I noticed the one corner was lifting a bit (had to zoom in close). Conngrats on the car it's awesome!

This is minor cosmetic stuff that shouldn’t even show up on a CARFAX report. If it does, it’s easily explainable (keep these photos).

Don’t order a new car, pay more money, and wait months for a new one while the dealer cashes in on selling the one you originally ordered to someone else.

Get them to fix the car, do a thorough inspection when it’s done, then take your kitty home.

Put the license plate bracket on it and it will cover all that...you will never see it again !! Would not be painting any of that !! Seen before where minor repairs get worse or not done proper, no paint match etc and can turn into shite show !!!

Unfortunate but the damage is not severe. I'd be agreeable to having the car fixed.

The response to the dealer telling you if you order another car -- which hopefully will arrive undamaged -- it will be priced at the current MSRP that you'll see what you can do at another dealer. Name one or two. And they don't have to be Dodge dealers. The current dealer doesn't have to know you would rather die that be in a Ford or Chevy. All he has to know, or better yet fear, is he will lose your business to another dealer.

Looks like it was rubbing on a something. They blend in that one small spot, replace the two lower stripe pieces, you'll never notice. Besides, you know you will get a rock chip or two to worry over, I did. I would let them fix it. Look at it like this, dealer could have just not mentioned it and tried to cover it up. Looks like you got a honest shop, thats something.

You could but they all have the dimples from the factory and what they fill them with could change and make it show up more..........If you drive it road pecks are gonna happen anyway

Sucks that happened, but don't feel like the car is ruined or something. That is very minor.
As long as everything else on the car is fine, I'd sign off on the deal with the written agreement that gets fixed.

The world has gone nuts in many ways.... there are no guarantees on anything man made.

IMO, it would be crazy to reject this car over that.
