HC fam! I stopped in today to have my current car serviced and I was chatting with my mechanic about me buying my HC. His next words were "Well, you're gonna being seeing me!" He proceeded to tell me that Chargers of late have front end issues (e.g. control arms, and other steering parts). He proceeded to say that this was due to Dodge accepting the auto bailout a few years back from the government, and thus having to now comply with fuel efficiency laws/guidelines. In order to do that, they've been making some parts lightweight to help improve the numbers, but resulting in more failed parts over time. He said that he's seen it particularly on the Chargers, and I just wondered if anyone here has seen any issues on the HC's of late (2015 up to now). Not that it'll deter me from buying my HC, but it's always good to have as much information when spending the amount of money we spend on these cars.

All automakers who sell cars in the US have to comply with US fuel efficiency laws/guidelines...

Also never heard of Chargers having any particular front end issues and I don't think anything on these cars qualifies as "lightweight".

I had never heard of anything like this either. But I figured I'd post it and see what the community had heard because this will be my first Charger and I'm just getting into the community.

'Preciate all the answers and validation that my HC will be a beast of a car. I must admit, from what I've seen in videos and info regarding HC ownership, it would seem that these cars are like tanks and can take a lickin' and keep on kickin'.
