This is the second time the engine light with code # P0430 has come on the car within a year. First time was told by Dealer they cleared code to make sure it's an issue or faulty code. Now that the code is back on the car the same dealer stated Star Center won't allow the Catalyst converter & O2 sensor to be done because I have the race PCM in the car. Please keep in mind this car isn't raced or has had any octane booster in the tank period. They're telling me that Dodge SRT Engineers have knowingly made a car that when used with factory sent race PCM this code is normal. This is coming from the SRT Team help line (855) 778-8326 & Star Center as well.

Are these clown's correct? Did we buy a car that's normal to have engine lights & codes on? I keep this car stock except for the race PCM that I feel shouldn't be an issue as it was a factory item.

Any help in this would be appreciated!

I vaguely remember that indeed it will trip a code and to expect that, think I remember it because it seemed odd lol. Could be wrong though. I'm sure a few Demon owners will chime in.

My advice is check the car's warranty booklet to see if installing the factory race PCM invalidates the warranty. If it is stated in the booklet it does I think you are out of luck.

If there is no mention then you can argue that the warranty should be in effect. If it is still denied then you can hint that you will seek to file a consumer fraud complaint against the dealer.

I had a p0420 code a while back with the race pcm installed and my dealer fixed the same components under warranty. I don’t know how much different the two codes are but maybe try your luck at a different dealership?

The problem is when a PCM is swapped all hellcats trigger that code. The dealer is probably just not familiar that the Demon has a factory alternate ecm, and is just presuming it has an aftermarket calibration.

I find to many people are under this impression that the average dealer writer actually is knowledgeable on every vehicle

P0420 and P0430 are the same code just refer to different cylinder banks and thus different converters. IIRC P0420 is bank #1, P0430 is bank #2.

I haven’t heard of that one. Sounds like horsesh1t to me. The race PCM does not void the warranty. What the race pCM DOES do is trigger the p1400 code. But SRT
did send a dealer bulletin out to this effect, to expect the code with the race pcm installed. Good luck and keep us posted.
