You can get a case 6 quarts on Amazon for $50. At least that's what it was. Pennzoil 0-40w platinum
I recall many of the Jeep SRT guys saying that supplies were often low/prices high when trying to order it because so many people have the same idea. It's usually sold by an Amazon vendor, not them directly.
Bought mine at Amazon as well. What's the deal with this oil? Not at any of the auto parts in my area.
I found some at auto zone. $10.50 quart
6 quarts, $47.52 on Amazon, free shipping delivered to my door. <$8.00/ quart. None of the parts stores around me carry it yet.

You want Penzoil "Ultra" Platunum
There is a post on here from either Challengerdad or HellCatdotcom that received technical data from the manufacturer of Royal Purple. Current recommendation is to not run Royal Purple until after 2000 miles has crossed.
Sorry waiving b.s. flag ultra platinum wouldn't be factory fill if you couldn't use purple initially either, NOT that I endorse either over the other, or suggest switching from oem selection. 0 factual basis.

Ok, here are the links with the facts that I state, but you can go argue with HCDC and take it up with him. I was trying to be helpful so folks don't damage their cars.

I started my car today, first time in over two weeks,, and it ticked for a few seconds, mind you it's been in a heated garage, and hasn't gone below 48 degrees,,I hope it's normal
That's a standard hemi tick , I've had 4 he is they all did it

That it true. Good memory! :) Royal Purple specifically says to give them a few more months and break in your engine 2,000 miles before using their oil once they have made an application for the new hellcat engine.

Royal purple specifically admitted they don't have any testing data or oil applications made for the hellcat yet as of early December 2014. They said to give them a few more months at least to test and make one or more available. They do not suggest using any of their Oils yet and if anything they said anyone can try their non API licensed and API licensed 0w40 but no guarantees as of this time but if you do, hit 2,000 miles then do it. Just stating what the RP techs said at the office down here in Houston.

Thank you. I have a really good memory, my downfall is finding where the information was stated. Thanks for the back up.

Mine did the same thing after sitting for 5 days. Went by the dealer today for another reason and mentioned it to the SRT tech and he said it's normal. I told him he better hope it is because he's the one that's going to be replacing the motor if it goes! :D

Mine sounded like it was coming from the drivers side, lower on the motor...or that could have been because I was hearing it come through the drivers side wheel...
Well that's good I'm not the only one hearing on there hellcat,,, few more months and us in the north can start driving again..on a side note,, the hellcat at the auto show had more people wanting to sit in it then any other vehicle on the floor

I believe Royal Purple said what they did and wasn't trying to suggest otherwise or that any member of this forum was twisting or miss understood them.

The question to ask them is if a car is factory filled with Shell's Penzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-40, do they have oil that can replace it, yes or no?

The b.s. part is 2000 miles. Either their product is acceptable or not mileage would not make their product ok to use; in our application. I can see them perhaps thinking someone has a new car and then responding how they did, but if Royal Purple was told the car left the factory with PUP 0W-40, then said wait 2000 miles, please, do not trust.
+2200 miles, and mine still reads full, cold.
