Has any one experience this,I’vegot a chip inthe passenger side door jam, there are no dents to indicate there was something caught in between the jam to cause this

Hi @Action man do you think you bought it this way and maybe can go back to where you got it from and have it repaired?

My husband taught me many things about cars and trucks and usually left it up to me to look over vehicles when we were buying.I guess I was the better complainer but to tell you the truth in the recent years (before covid) I didn't find anything.
My daughter just bought a new Rubicon which I didn't go over because she said her BF's Dad did.
Let me tell you there were lots of problems around inside the door. I had it because she borrowed my Ram for Towing her car for dragracing. While driving it the saw paint issues. Then I looked for more and saw more issues in other places.
She was able to have the paint repairs done.

I hope you will be able to get the repairs done too.

Linda :)

My HC has the exact same chip. I’ve had my 2021 for 7 months now and I had never seen that chip until recently. I actually wondered if someone tried to shove a flathead in the door to break in. There is not any rubbing or anything when the door closes.

I’ve had my car for a little over a month now and have washed it around four or five times and always wipe down the door jams and had not noticed it,not only till I opened the door to let my girlfriend in on our way to a car meet did I notice it,there did not appear to be any damage else were in the jam or on the quarter panel,I will take a closer look for the slightest marks when I get home and reply.

Cant really tell where the chip is from the pic but I’ve seen seatbelt buckles get slammed into door jams before. People arent paying attention when they remove them and sometimes they dont retract all the way and are sort of loose and flopping around. Usually in the rear. Kids are usually the culprits.
Just a thought.

Sounds logical but #1 no kids#2 no one’s been in the back seat and#3 there are no other marks in the door jam to indicate an object had been in the way,the chip is just past the door liner fabric(armrest panel),my thoughts are it just weakened and broke off from closing the door probably defective material,it would probably do more harm to claim a warranty issue and have it repaired so I’ll probably get some touch up and leave it at that, thanks for your reply

If you're looking for a good touch up paint, I've had a really good experience with Dr. Colorchip. Kits are expensive though.

I have a similar paint type issue on my daily driver. Haven't seem that on my Challenger, but I will look again.
Could those marks, or lack of paint be where the painting robots hold the door open slightly while it travels thru the paint booth ?
