As an FYI the flame is FAR brighter than it appears there. In fact, with around 500 degrees being the compressed air temp before combustion, it may glow prior to combustion. They just had to use the insanely bright lights for the ultra-fast frame speed of the video, so the flame does not look that bright, but it is. I have seen the glow of combustion at night right through my spark plug insulators.

I think what they should have done is taken a video in the dark. I would like to examine the flame behavior in more detail, and at a much slower speed. A glass piston, too would help, if it would survive, or a glass cylinder head, or multiple cameras that can composite a 3D image.
