My wife was driving my car the other day (on the racetrack) and the check engine light came on so it’s her fault. The code is a P0420 which indicates catalytic converter malfunction. The car has had catless mid pipes with the Big Daddies 02 simulator extensions installed for almost two years now (off-road use only) it just decides to throw a code? I cleared the code and haven’t driven it since so not sure if it’ll come back on, but any suggestions? Possibly replace 02 sensors? Anyone running catless experience this after such an extended period of time with no codes?

If you bought the 02 simulator (the mini cat they offer) It could be that aswell. I would try swapping either and see what happens. Im guessing after 2 years one of them could have fouled out.
Ya I suppose those could foul up. I’d have to buy new ones to test that hypothesis or take the old ones out and try cleaning them

Those Big Daddy “mini cats” don’t last forever, 2 years depending on mileage is a long life for them. It’s probably time for new ones and I bet code goes away
I never thought about that to be honest until now. Guess it makes sense considering how small they are that they can plug up or get restricted quickly. I’ll be ordering a new set today

I got that code one Sunday morning. Difference was mine had the OEM cats. Here is a picture of the inside of the converter. We had to remove and check it, because about 40 miles later of aggressive “off road” on track driving the Supercharger ate itself and took the motor with it at about 145 mph without any warning or other apparent problems.

Yikes, that’s probably why they issued that recall on the factory catalytic. Luckily mine aren’t in there but I’m wondering if those 02 simulators look similar to that since they are supposedly the same material

IDK but do clear the code and find the fault, just in case something as strange as what I show is going on. Just before it ripped itself, I actually thought it was running better! Oh boy was I wrong, it could not have been more sick apparently. Good news is that mother Dodge has been good to me. Very good to me.;)
