Any guessing on when the Feds institute a ban on combustion engines? Or a mandate to stop the production of the CEs and then a separate mandate to have them off the streets.

The Feds control our lives and it’s coming. I’m guessing 2035/2040

definitely seems to be gaining momentum a lot quicker than I'd have imagined a couple years ago...I think rather than an all out ban, they will raise taxes on gasoline to the point of forcing people who are holdouts into electric vehicles.

Just wondering how that impacts us in the next 10-15 years and what will it do to our car values. At some point when I’m dead in 20+ Years our cars will eventually have no value as gasoline becomes extinct.

It really comes down to the timing.

Will go up up up IMO but I'm like you won't be around to see it. Just tell your family what your hot rod stuff is worth before you take the journey 😏

My guess is well into the 2040's or later. CA and a couple of other states have agreed to ban the sale of ICE powered passenger cars starting in 2035 but that doesnt mean manufacturers will cease production that soon. As more states jump onto the bandwagon the manufacturers will react accordingly. Unless there's a federal mandate before that. Barring a mandate I'm thinking 2045-2050.

I highly doubt owning them will EVER be banned. As the electrification of the fleet takes place, and the appliance-only wanting masses go electric, cars like these will be fewer and fewer as a percentage of the fleet as a whole. They will eventually be in the minority so much that emissions from them will no longer be an issue. The collector ICE vehicles will always be around as relics of a time gone by, and won’t be the targets of new government regs bc there just won’t be enough of them to be a problem. And yes, due to this, they will always be cool and desirable. The few kids who are young now and into high performance cars will place legendary, iconic vehicles like the Hellcat squarely in their sights when they’re old enough and well-heeled enough to buy. My kid won‘t have to buy one though haha, he’ll get mine. That’s my take anyway.
The above assuming of course we don’t blow ourselves up first, or get killed off by a super virus that no one wants to take a vaccine for haha.

I think this is how it will likely go. Also, once New ICE is bannned, we will still have millions of gas vehicle on the road. I’m betting it will be decades after the production of ICE is banned before we see all the used vehicles age out. I’m betting if 2035 holds for the killing of new ICE, we will see them around well into 2065. And by then ICE will be for the few who can afford it. I will be 90 in 2065, assuming I live that long, so Im good with my Hellcat for life!
