I got an interesting email from Dodge Market research division the other day asking asking me to participate in a research study about the future if Dodge SRT division.

It was quite inquisitive about a whole range of subjects related to the Dodge performance division.

I was particularly stuck by their proposed SRT focused dealships dedicated to helping their customers get the most out of their SRTs.

This included dealership focused modding of the SRT to reach their full potential, including parts, installation, testing and maintaining the cars.

It also mentioned exclusive access to special limited edition models and priority service and support including the ideas like SRT loaner cars while yours is in for service or modification.

If this does indeed come to pass it would be absolutely fantastic and I think would cement Dodge as the premium performance line in the US.

Agreed would definitely be in major locations, but the idea of being able to have a high performance dealship work with you on something like that and still have the piece of mind of your warranty intact would be awesome.

The detail and specific nature of the survey leads me to believe that they are seriously considering something along these lines.

If it does come to pass it would be as big a blow to Ford and GM as the introduction of the Hellcat.

Smart, they are trying to take a bite out of the aftermarket By offering factory performance dealers. They’ll allow you to mod cars IF you pay them and then they’ll warranty it. Kind of like a Shelby deal in Vegas.

I got the survey, and I would love the idea have the opportunity to have Dodge install mods on my car that are covered by factory warranties. There was also a question that asked what kind of cars you were interested in seeing in the future, and 4 of the 5 options were all electric cars...

I just completed the survey too. I think it's a great idea and I hope it comes to fruition. I live near a very large Dodge dealership, but they sell pick-ups primarily. I doubt they'll ever become an SRT dealership. In fact, I think about most dealerships and their employees I've known over my life, and I can't imagine any becoming an SRT dealership. Car salesmen are like pool installers. They come and go, and promise you anything until the transaction is complete. After that, they're on to the next guy, or the next dealership, or the next job. How would you keep trained an employee group that turns over 50% each year?

I think if the pay was inline with what the aftermarket guys charge they would have no problem keeping quality employees.

I would have zero problems paying for quality work at the going rates especially if the factory warranty was intact.

Personally I think they would have more business than they could handle.

SRT is history
The SRT models are still using technology from 2017.

I look at it this way, who would ever have thought that Dodge would build and mass produce the 707+ hp Monster that is the Hellcat and all it's varients back in the day, so while not probable it's definitely not an impossibility.
