I've been looking into possibly getting the Gen. 5 Stage 1 Whipple supercharger, but needed some help/advice. My main concerns are 1). What supporting mods would I need for this setup? 2). Can I run a Whipple on pump gas, or would I need E85 or similar racing fuels? The second question kinda answers the first and 3). Can I still use my current pulleys which I recently swapped, or does the Whipple require a different set of pulleys for added boost? I see that the Whipple can be used with the stock lines, stock rails, etc. But I don't see anything about pulleys or info related specifically to fueling/fuel delivery (i.e running on pump gas and which size injectors are necessary). I currently have a 3.17 upper/6% Incognito lower combo, with FIC 1000cc injectors. Running on pump gas with a custom 93 tune, but I add a few gallons of MS109 to increase the octane a few points. Super fast street car and pulls like an angry devil :) Just interested in the possibility of upgrading to a Whipple while the prices are still decent. I can only imagine what these units will cost once the HCs are discontinued after this year. Any feedback/thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

1) advise injectors to match your fuel and tune style, fuel pump improvement to give room to grow for higher rate of delivery
2) yes it is very easy to run about any fuel but the blower is not a limiting factor. All about fuel system and tuning.
3) Whipple has their own pulleys so upper is omitted...would recommend contacting a reputable speed shop like HHP to ask about Whipple combo with lower overdrive pullies.

You are solid up to a good bit of capabilities as you sit. If you change to Whipple I do not see how having the lower would help as the tuning parameters may be best suited to one component vice the two in this discussion.

Keep in mind some shops describe the early released Gen 5 3.0l Whipples as Covid blowers as there have been documented issues with new sets having significant noise and snout issues.

Many thanks for your indepth feedback. I actually got some additional info from Josh today over at HHP. And yes, I've also followed another thread here where others mentioned some of the issues with these Gen. 5 Whipples. I'll definitely keep researching for sure. Much appreciated!
