Why are the fuel doors ridiculously priced?

I was hoping to change mine out, as it and the SRT emblems are the only bits of chrome on the car. I'd like to get hold of a matte black door.

My friend with an SRT plastidipped his black and it worked excellent and then put a new badge on it. I rebadged my door also. Posting a pic cause peeps love seeing my sexy Hellbeasts butt! Lol

Anything Mopar is pricey unfortunately. That said the matte black doors are actually quite a bit less than the aftermarket billet doors.

Yes, my neighbor did it. He reached underneath and loosened the screws so he could mask behind it and it is staying on really well. Also can be removed easily. I plastidipped all the letters on the back of my car. That way if I change my mind, easy to remove.

I was able to sell my chrome fuel door for $40-50. So it basically meant I only spent $40 on the new black one. Not too bad of a deal when you look at it that way.
