Actually not entirely true. Most people dont know that they will also pay to replace pitted windshields as well. They are more than happy to eliminate any possibility of a lawsuit/accident claim due to vision impairment caused by pitting glare in the sun.

Well yeah, material defects are warranteeable. In the context of this topic though, we are talking about a fracture. Unless the material or install related defect causes the crack, then it's a wear item.

Idling your car for more than a minute or so is really bad for a car. Too much condensation from combustion that doesn't get burned off quickly enough.

Shouldn't be that much traffic in the driveway. Once out on the roads the engine is probably reasonably warm.

Yeah I usually check the traffic reports for my driveway before I leave. I take an alternate route if it's busy.
