I been searching but didn't see any answers to this. Do you apply any type of loctite or oil to the crank bolt threads and dowel pin or install them dry?

I’ve heard of a few guys who apply Loctite to the pin but I don’t much see the point. I didn’t apply either.

I have in my notes to use blue 242 or 2422 loctite on the crank bolt. Nothing in my notes about the pins themselves. Since they don't have threads I don't think regular blue loctite would be the correct thing to use anyways. I think if you were to use something on the pin itself it would have to be loctite 680 or something similar.

I didn't on either, pin or bolt. Just a little spit on the pin.
