Smells like Troll.
Kudos for being honest. Not easy to edmit one f'd up. We've all been there done that. Just in most cases it doesn't involve wrecking a new car.

The way it was explained to me is everybody is stupid 15 seconds a day. The trick is to not be stupid at the wrong time.

Fortunately you were (hopefully) not seriously hurt. I know -- well at least have heard -- whiplash can be the injury that keeps on giving... Misery. Hopefully though not in your case.

Best advice i can offer is work to get the claim settled. I haven't read all the posts but hopefully the car is totaled. Really for most accidents beyond fender bender or where there is just sheet metal damage of bolted on body panels totaling is best.

Do not buy the car back with the idea of a cheap repair and making money. Sometimes a car just ends up where it is not good for anything other than to supply parts to help keep other cars on the road. Your car is such a car.

Move on.

Best thing to do as the memory of this incident -- but not the lesson -- will fade and you can get on with your life.
Great advice brother! I got a call a few days ago saying they totaled it. Now I'm waiting on a price. The guy said they are having are hard time finding one comparable. Its was b5 blue with a little under 5k miles. They only made like 140 b5 redeye's and only sold it in b5 for 1 year. I can only find one b5 redeye on the entire internet for sale! It's a little different and has 10k more miles than mine. The insurance guy did say I would probably be getting back more than what I paid for it. I hope he telling the truth!

It’s really righteous.
Man, I'm not even going to lie! I was being stupid, going too fast in a sharp curve and like a dumb ass, I got on the gas a little mid curve and the ass end came loose. 100% my fault. Thank god I was alone, not seriously hurt and no cars were coming in the orher lane. I learned a valuable lesson that day! Respect! The redeye isn't for the curves. I knew that but like one guy said, I got stupid for 15 seconds and this is what happened.

A lot of people say that the Hellcats or redeye's are for the straight line only. IMHO If you choose the correct drive mode you should be fine. When I took mine up in to the twisties I had traction control in STREET mode, To hell with race mode, at least in the twisties.

If you know you are on the edge of traction/grip in a corner, never ever give ANY Hellcat some throttle. Not only do we have great and really excessive torque, but if it downshifts at the same time, bang; the envelope is exceeded and it breaks traction. Early in the corner is even worse because you can’t countersteer out without running out of pavement as I am sure you found out.

I would recommend everyone to take advantage of their one day demo with professional instructions at the Bondurant course in Phoenix to learn more and get better feel of these things. Glad you are okay OP, glad the big machine protected you and took all the energy out of the crash. Good luck on a new one. If they can’t find B5 blue, there is a new blue color (frostbite or something) that could get you close.

Be careful about the insurance company trying to find you a replacement.

Back in May 2009 I had a brand new (4 week old) 2008 Cayman S hit and declared a total loss. The other at fault driver's insurance "tried" to find me a replacement. My car had just 2K miles on it. Was Speed Yellow with black leather interior. 6-speed. Sports Chrono. Etc. The pieces of junk the insurance submitted to me was pathetic. And not nearby either. The nearest was like in Sacrmento at the time about 90 miles away from where I lived. They were not even all Caymans. Some were Boxsters. (I already owned a Boxster. Didn't want a 2nd one.) All IIRC were automatics. All had way more miles then the 2K miles.

The settlement was around $45K for the car plus I retained ownership of the car with a salvage title. The problem was the other driver only had $50K insurnace and she chose to hit a $60K+ car...

There was another bit of money too I forget for what. Maybe cause I had to see a doctor about the irritation caused by the airbag fumes/dust which I inhaled.

The car was valved at $17,000 -- with its salvage title. I had a "connection" at a nearby huge auto auction facility and the GM graciously allowed me to put the car in its weekly salvage/wrecked car auction. The car went for over $20K! And when I offered it the GM refused to accept the seller's fee from me.

Fifteen seconds?? For me it's at least 15 hours a day. And every singe moment while driving the 'Cat.

Screw all that nonsense.
I insure my cat with Hagerty. It is a declared value policy. I have seen the other insurance companies try to screw me too many times in the past.

They are giving me 6k more than I paid for it. I'm really happy with progressive insurance!
Good news for you. Probably will cover the sales tax and registration on the new ride?

If you have not done so please install a dash cam and leave it on all the time you are in the car. The video will at some point be epic. Hope you live to see it.
I do have one, but it's usually in the Ram 3500. Not because I drive that one faster, since it's impossible, but when the GCVW is 25 to 39K lbs. it'll still be spectacular when/if something happens.

That is an exception to the rule. After taxes etc, etc., do you need to make a trip to the bank?
