I am waiting for road side to get me, I dont know what could have happened, driving normally to work, when all this oil smoke started gushing out. Lots of oil lost, shut down right away anyone know what could have happened?
Oul changed 2k miles ago, looks like 4 quarts of oil on the ground, engine bay took a bath.oil changed recently? oil filter loose? oil cooler lines loosen up? Oil residue in tailpipe?
2018 , funny thing is it wasn't on a recall list for the oil cooler lines, but yet it was built September 2017, so I'm thinking it should have been part of the recall. I will find out later tomorrow what happened. If it is the oil cooler lines, im sure my power train warranty will cover it.What year is your Hellcat?

Would that have been part of a recall? Its all fixed and covered by power train warranty, oil cooler hose.
That was my question to the svc dept. They told me no recalls of that nature on mine, but here is my thoughts, yes it is a 2018 that was built Sept 2017. Could it have had the recall part in it ,but not included in the recall? The hose should not have failed if it was the revised one ,right?Would that have been part of a recall?

I’m gonna go with slows guess but yeah for the ones popping out after delivery is definitely due to no “c” clip being put in one of the lines at the coolerMine has a trans cooler line pop off shortly after delivery. Right around 1200 miles. Big mess also. Lots of oil and trans lines have been popping off the fittings due to improper install at the factory. Mind boggling how such a basic thing gets overlooked. Hopefully that’s all it is.
Yes everything is good, I just hoped they would have tried to clean the oil up from under it. I still gave them 10s and all yeses because they are always good to me there, plus my next HC oil change is freeWe're happy to hear that your concern has been resolved by the dealer.
