We have a GoPro Hero 3 Silver...and I'd say if you want something that you can use for MORE than just sitting on a dash, get the GoPro. It's versatile and tiny and can go anywhere you want it to (even underwater!). It can also be controlled remotely via your phone if necessary (not sure if this option is available on what you're considering).

We bought ours in September for an upcoming Hawaii trip (and because we knew the Hellcat would come someday) so we missed out on the new ones by like a month!

This weekend I looked at a GoPro Hero Black 3+. Super camera but I decided it was WAY more than I needed. I really want a semi-permanently mounted dashcam. Also, with the GoPro by the time I added suction cup mount (could have used tape with one of the included tab mounts), the housing with the hole for the power cord and the SD card I was into it for another $180ish.

Nice cameras no doubt but I really just want a decent dashcam. Getting some good ideas in this thread. Thank you all for the input.

No Wifi on this unit correct? To view you remove the SD card and pop it into a PC? Are you using MAC or PC?

I'm not saying Wifi is a must have. Just trying to understand what each one has to offer... Thx.

Wifi probably be one of the nicest features as I can live view on my phone or play back/save any time without take out a card. Dashcamtalk has all the info. the road hawk not on same level. Also they are not a very Mac friendly.

I decided on the Blackvue DR600
I'm still researching but right now that is my top contender. One of the things I like is the WiFi enabled OTA firmware. Seems like it eliminates a step in that I can grab the Wifi to my phone and send to the device OTA. These days everything has needs a firmware update sooner or later!!!

Where did you guys get your DR600's. I see one site in Austin, TX, one in Canada, Amazon... Not to many options but then again I just need one good one.

I also like I can buy an extra mount for $15 and leave it in another car. Then just slide the camera out and in...

I decided to give the DR600GW-HD WIFI a try. Good recommendations here, I like what I'm reading, fits the budget... I ordered it from the CDN site. Thanks guys. I appreciate all the suggestions and discussion.

Looking forward to getting it...

Make sure you get the power magic or something similar. Wires in easily gives you a switch for power and won't let your battery die. I actually never turn the cam off. When parked in garage goes into Park mode on its own only records on motion detection. Have left car for a week no issues. Great choice.

I did order the powermagic with it. I also ordered a spare mount. Got it with the 16GB card and then ordered a good Class 10 Sandisk 64GB microSD. I didn't want some noname SD (not saying what they have is bad, just didn't want to chance it). I can use the 16 as a backup if I ever remove the other SD for any reason or I have other uses for it.

Does the Challenger have a fuseblock on the passenger side? That would make hooking up the power magic pretty easy.
