So this past weekend I putt aftermarket hellcat badges on my charger. I used a little bit of goo gone and rubbing alcohol to get the residue off after getting the badge off. After putting the new badges on I realized I forgot to use any type of spray wax or wax in general where I rubbed the alcohol and goo gone. Will this hurt the paint? What should I do? I see a lot if not everyone on YouTube using some time of spray wax after using any type of chemical to remove the adhesive from the paint… only thing I can think of is ether take them off and buy new ones or maybe spray some wax on the badge and let it make contact with as much paint around the badge as possible before wiping off…. Any tips?

You lucked out. NEVER wax a surface before sticking something onto it. It will fall off.

My bad not wax but a detail spray. I guess they suggest using a polish spray or quick detail spray to get the alcohol off? Not really sure
You should be good. Just wax around it unless it really bothers you. If you were to re-do it just wash it after. I wouldnt spray anything else onto it before applying the new ones. I'm very sure you didnt remove all of the clearcoat. You wouldve seen a really dull spot if you had.

Awesome! Thank you. Also if people don’t like rubbing alcohol or goo gone what do you guys suggest to get the sticky adhesive off?

WD-40. Softens up the goo and harmless on the paint. Gotta dab it on and let it sit. Takes a while but you can eventually rub the goo off. Wash it well after with soapy water. No sprays after.
