With the escalation of dipshittery going on with vehicle theft and carjackings, do you think debadging would have any effects on being targeted?

With the exception of those of us with fancy stripes/colors and other than the thieves who can recognize Hellcat hoods, maybe it would lessen the likelihood of being targeted by random lowlife’s?

Whatdya think?

Doubtful unless you plan to change hoods, spoilers, wheels, exhaust, flare if you got them, supercharger whine ect.

These cars are big, loud, and easily identifiably, which is why they are so hot and in demand by both normal people and the criminals.

May as well just sell the car if your that worried about it.

(Disclaimer I am in no way targeting you directly this is just a general statement, relax 😁)

People usually overlook my debadged 'Cat, but some have asked if the GT AWD Challenger is a Hellcat.

In other words, most don't have a clue what the differences are/should be.

Unfortunately the thieves know the difference.
Maybe, maybe not.

In the meantime I get to enjoy the cleaner look of the debadged car, and less scrutiny by many, including the police.
Potential theft was not the reason for the debadge, by the way. If I worried about that, the first step would be to stop leaving the keys in our cars. Followed by locking the doors.

Well, in my case that's a potential side effect that certainly can't hurt.

Dammit. I agreed with Turd. But he’s right. I think de-badging is cool for anyone who wants to. Mine has no side badges as after PPF I just said leave them off. But any PROFESSIONAL thief will know exactly what these cars are, the differences between trims, all of it. Badges or no. We do.

Thieves know what they're looking for, and they know what a debadged Hellcat/Redeye/Demon looks like. It's not like debadging is an automotive form of Klingon cloaking. FWIW, your badges are just as likely to get swiped by neighborhood kids, so maybe debadging has value.

It was easier to tell early on, before the original hood was trickled down a few trims along with the original spoiler. IIRC like the ‘15-‘18 hood, only the hellcat had the straight across spoiler, and the other trims had the demon style where it slightly dips in the center. 6 pistons are available on lower trims, not sure how big the brake rotors are though. IMO the biggest giveaway is the intercooler showing through the lower grill.

I look at none of that. I look at the suspension and the car’s stance. I can tell a Dynamics package car and certainly a Widebody from a pretty fair distance. Evaluating one parked at a glance is an easy, millisecond determination. I’m sure professional thieves are better at it than me.

That's the downside with the TRX. Debadging doesn't work as well as with a 'Cat, since those visible shocks, the height, and the (actual) wide body are hard to hide.

But I've still had someone ask if it was a Rebel. Based on the grille, I guess. Yes it is, I said.

Great answer LOL
BUT, I can spot a TRX a mile away too. Badass trucks. Make a Raptor look positively girlish imo.

Too many SRT spots all over the damn car. Taking a few off wouldn’t hurt. Dodge should revisit all the loud names and come up with a stealthier version that you really can’t tell what it is. Screw all the badges and seat markings, the dash, the inlet tubes, the blower, the wheels, the calipers, the floor mats, the steering wheel, … Did I miss any? Think Dodge made my point.
