I recently bought a 2020 redeye widebody with under 2500 miles. It's an absolute beast and insanely fun to drive.
One of my only complaints with the car is the trunk and it's inability to stay open. The slightest breeze makes it want to decapitate me. Is this normal or do I need to see about a warranty claim on the struts?

Not normal but theyre not really expensive. I def would just run out and buy them rather than make an appointment and then drop my car off to some greenhorn paint scratching kid who the dealer assigns such menial jobs to. Not worth it to me. YMMV.

^^^ What that Slowpoke guy said.

Who do you trust more to pay attention, you who bought the $75K+ car or, the minimum wage intern with a hammer and screwdriver?

I would just have the dealer do it and wait for the car. Go over the car with the service writer prior to them pulling it in.
Most mechanics are fine, everyone here talks about mechanics like they are dumb people or out to ruin your car......
If you are worried, but a set and do it yourself. You can even find ones with a higher weight if you want, but only go 3-5lb heavier if you do.

While I don't disagree with you, for the most part, the techs are swamped and speed through jobs. I had to have my carpet replaced due to a hole in it and when they put the rear seat back in they didn't bother to put the seatbelt clip above the seat. They did on one side but not the other. They also didn't fully clip in the panels around the console and I wasn't able to open my glove box because they broke a clip on a panel from it. Oh I also have a dent on the door sill from what I assume is when they took the seats out or put them back in. So yeah, I absolutely don't trust them to do a job like I would but they can't take their time like I would either.

Dealerships are slower than ever right now, they are happy to get warranty work.
If you get something back unsatisfactory, you should have addressed it with the manager.
If you don't want them working on your car, that is fine, take it somewhere else or do it yourself.
They deal with alot of fraud from people as well.

Dealers around here are three weeks out for appointments. Parts stores are open every day. Why wait three weeks to save $30? It’s a two minute job.
