BLUF…..
Got a screen replacement for the demon due to delaminating through dodge cares and Uconnect and they gave me a hellcat red eye screen.
First three pics are the red eye screen in the demon.
the last pic is the original demon screen in high octane mode.

I am trying to help the dealership and uconnect figure out what is wrong. 4 weeks and no fix. Uconnect advised the dealership to open a star ticket. It’s getting annoying that they can’t figure this out.
There are lots of details to this story, this is the short version.
If someone out there understands how the software interfaces with the PCM or if it’s the screen interface directly programmed from uconnect, please educate us.

I don't think you are going to get your "demon" screen back...this is software based, and currently they have nothing written to change the redeye screen to a demon screen. Sadly I don't think they will ever create a fix for this and demon owners are going to lose this one

Hope the star case helps. I’ll definitely get it the bottom of it.
I still can’t get a straight answer. But I think the screen comes installed from uconnect with the interface. I’m not sure how it works. Techs at the dealership tried the engineer pages and reset but couldn’t change the red eye interface. And where stumped. I was hoping someone on here could explain, i’m curious.

I was outta warranty and unconnect/dodgecares replaced it no cost, which was Awsome. My old screen was so bad I couldn’t get to a custom mode because it would switch back to media page to fast. Other than the red eye BS, the screen works great. Hahahaha

Did the demon get its own firmware bundle? I am betting it can be flashed. I would go down the route of asking this :

1. If you had to reflash a uconnect to base that just got that messed up, what file would you use for a demon?
REASON : All of those files can be opned and viewed with either tar ( linux / unix ), winzip. Its just a archive. Once inside you dig around looking to see anything that stands out. In most cases, you probably find a json file or somethign that has a configuration profile. Think of the taser, it just enables, or used to, profiles for high level trims. So, unless the demon had its own firmware for the uconnect, highly unlikely, you should be able to get it enabled. Plus, you might call uconnect, get a level 3 tech on a call and explain the issue. I bet they will have the source archive.

2. Do a parts number check if you have not already. Unless a different connector exists on the red eye screen, it probably the same hardware. Its alot like the pcm, its got stuff thats turned off for autos, the inter chiller, etc. It is not very common to have bespoke digital hardware for things like this. Its alot of dev work to support multiple work flows, plus all the factory stuff that goes into building multiple pieces of the same hardware for different platforms.

Sorry about you rluck. But I am learning REAL quick, most of the people in this industry, its anything to avoid to much time. In most cases, its just under the surface if you dig enough.

Good luck.

Also, if they let you kleep the old unit, or still have it in the parts bin, you could always do a screen swap. Pull uconnect out, its just a rga screen that has connectors behind it inside the box, its not rocket since... a little scary to do at first, but its easier than a cam or clutch. Its like flashing a router via jtag ( jtag is what they use to unlock the pcm ). Just have to dig.

So.
1. my first thought was part number. Apparently they order off the vin and that pulls up all parts associated. Maybe the system has a bad number? Not sure. They shipped the original screen out so fast they didn’t check to see the original part number on the back of the unit. It’s a core exchange.
2.You can flash to base level when they plug in with the dealer tool and get to the engineering options. They don’t have a flash file. Which is what I was hoping they just downloaded the wrong one. Not the case.
also. If you disconnect the battery ever for 5 plus mins. It will refresh to the base Chrysler unconnect screen and it’ll be blue with no performance pages. It takes a few sleep cycle to open up whatever Channels in the software and your performance pages come back. I did this with the original screen and I was trying to get rid of an Eng light due to some bad gas (code is always the cat converter isn’t performing up to standard.
Im under the impression that there is a firmware build for a demon on someone’s desktop. No one prepared for the screens to shit, so bo extra where built, once the 3000 where done. 3300. + 3 whatever it was.
It was mentioned before that there isn’t any written software that lets the red eye read demon specs as the interface , I think they will have to build new ones with that demon interface, can’t imagine it got deleted.
3. the uconnect techs mentioned to open a star case. That’s it. I wish I could just hash it out with the software engineers.
Seems to me it does comes specifically from uconnect with the correct interface and is ya flashable. Still would like to know if that’s how it works. Makes the troubleshooting a lot easier.

Always fun to try and figure this out when you are working through techs. That’s are just trying to relay the info. All good. I’ll update as I go, at this point. I mentioned that for this small population that’s affected the techs do not have sufficient information based off of prior occurrences and no realistic solution thus far. We the consumer end up going in circles wasting time. For me it’s been about 5 weeks already. Kinda silly.

I’ll look at the link and see if there’s a contact. Dodge cares and uconnect all are connected and once you have a case number you get the service techs. Nice people. Just front desk level. Dealers hove the only connection to engineers. Like these guys are elf’s hidden is the damn cabinets. Lol. I feel like there’s always the telephone message effect as the info is pass through three people.
Genuinely curious how these screens work. I understand now through trial and error that the screen does drive the switch positions and commands. Example HO mode is commanded through tue screen to the pcm not the the fixed action button on the console.
it’s all interesting. Don’t like to get to deep just want to fix it. Lol.

Uconnect manager called and will bring up the chain to find the specific part number for the demon screen. He mentioned he can view the star case the dealership started and the star engineers response is that the demon screen has a different part number. Lol. Which is what I wanted to see in the beginning. But whateves. So I asked him to just have that specific number sent directly to uconnect and they can verify they have one, then send directly to the dealer, since we already know what I have is wrong.
star engineer first question was to verify the part number. Shit just cracks me up. To be continued…. We’ll see where this goes. Already 6 weeks down.
