Has anyone run the Mt r 325/35r18 tires at the track? I'm looking to get tires for the track and want something that will hook every time. I would prefer to not get the taller tires since I'll lose ratio which is never a good thing if you can help it. I wish I could go with a slick but I'm not going down the road of installing driveshaft safety loop. More time than I'm willing to put in at the moment

You want to "hook every time" but yet you are choosing a tire that has disadvantages. Makes no sense whatsoever.

BTW, I have never been asked for a driveshaft safety loop by Tech. Maybe it's because these cars do not have U-Joints. When I read the rule book, I read it literally. For instance, a flex plate is NOT a flywheel.

Which tire would you recommend without needing to change rear brakes? A 17" would be better but then I run into the problem of buying rims, and actually finding tires that are in stock. U joint or not tech can be however they want and don't want to deal with it. Plus I don't think they have a slick that is wider than 10.5" that isn't taller than oem. Losing ratio I never a good thing if it can be helped. Have you ever used the tires I mentioned above?

If you have a Demon with stock power it will dead hook on a 10X28 with really good track prep. If you want a DOT on the side I would run the ET Street R 305/45R18. Like I said, I bet you could run the Hoosier Drag Bracket Radials and never be asked a question by Tech (remove the white letters). Then you have the 10.5X28 or the 10.5X29.5 or the 11.5X29.5 to choose from. If you are certain you want to hook every time there is only one choice here. But you seem to be worried more about setting a personal best. If so, then there is really only one choice here. But YOU have to make up your mind.

I run the 11.5X29.5-18 DBR on my super stock and it does surprisingly good on the 60 foot. So it is not the end of the world.

For setting Personal Bests I run the 10.5X28-17 Hoosier DBR.

PIC has the 11.5X29.5 DBR on a Powdercoated Demon Wheel.
