I am ordering a demon hood for my 2018 HC WB due to personal preferences and wondering if I can keep my stock intake or need to by a different one? If so, which one?

I see the Demon intakes are around $800. Whats the diff between the demon intake and the JLT,AFE? Are they the same and would they work with Demon hood?

Any help/advice would be appreciated!

If the Demon hood is OEM it would mate perfectly with the OEM Demon intake making the hood intake an active ram air intake. Not sure if JLT/AFE makes a Demon specific intake that mates up to the Demon hood.

You recommend this one or just getting a LMI type?
For a 2018, the OEM Redeye/Demon setup would be my recommendation. With the addition of a Demon hood, it has no hood vents to extract engine bay heat and no hood intake to bring air over the supercharger so underhood will heat up more than the 2018 OEM setup. 2018+ Demon and Redeyes have the benefit of the power chiller to offset supercharger heat but the 2018 Hellcats don't have that.

LMI and other intakes with larger air tubes and filters have the added benefit of lesser restriction at max flow vs. OEM; when the car is moving and the air intake temperatures for both setups are ~ equal.

Below are several comparisons.

Really great info! I appreciate that!

Update here. Bought the jlt intake. Still waiting on hood. Ordered from ebay, didn’t have in stock. Ordered from Vicrez, they jerked me around with excuses for 2 weeks and had to file a case with paypal to get my money back. Ordered from Anderson Composites (carbon fiber) last week. Patiently waiting.....

@Miked5420 I was going to order a demon hood for my WB from Vicrez unitl I read this🙏. Let us know your experience with AC, that's the next move for me too but im waiting to hear back from them about hood pins. I didn't want them but the site says they're needed to keep the hood from detaching on the highway since CF is lighter than the factory aluminum.

I have hood pins here that arrived last week. I think the reason for them is because the composite material may cause the hood latch over time to lose its bond. It doesn't bond with strength like metal material does. Idk

We recommend hood pins and heat shields for any composite hood whether it is carbon fiber or fiberglass and from any manufacturer. Our hoods in particular may be lighter than other manufacturers as well. The use of hood pins helps reduce unwanted lifting associated with all the incoming air at higher speeds. Using heat shields helps protect the bottom surface of the hood from all the unwanted engine heat temps. Our website has an image of our Demon hood with heat shield installed for reference.
