When I did mine I had the same question you did. But to my surprise I found the little pieces are already installed from the factory. So you need not worry about installing them. If you look with a mirror and flashlight you can see them already mounted in the hood. Make sure you tape off the area around the opening to keep from scratching the paint when you install the new one.
